"but what was more impressive was that if that race had have been 1 more lap long Stoner would have lapped Melandri".

but what is more impressive is that if he didnt crash in 2006 & 2010, chances are, he would have 11 WC all up and 9 in the premier class by now.

if..if...if....if

I think people such as Southerner, CRT etc... have past the stupidity stage or they're just trollers.

@CRT you really are a sad, lonely, old beggar. You have nothing nice to say about anyone. You constantly beat down other posters and many riders. I truly believe you're not even a fan but just a troll as you have YET to sign up to crash so you can post under different names and constantly agree with your own comments & you always bash Rossi. Do you even watch the races or do you always just look up the results after?

As for your quote it's a proven fact that Rossi said the 2005 M1 was the best bike he'd ever ridden, well... YOU'RE WRONG! He said "the 2005 M1 was the best M1 I've ridden" there is a difference. Get your facts right before posting.

@True & There (double act)

And yet you do not dispute with fact or reason, simply schoolboy "teasing". Why is that?

Oh wait...no fact or reason!

@Rick180268 get your facts right! Melandri was in Ducati in 2008 not 2007. That statement has just made the rest of your comment irrelevant & shows your lack of knowledge.

also @CRT in 2007 the Bridgestone tires suited the Ducati better than any other BS runner and those tires were much better than Michelin add to that that the tires suited Stoner's style & Ducati had a Top Speed advantage.

As the season progressed BS concentrated on providing Stoner with the best tires before the other BS riders as he had the best chance of winning the championship so that's why in 2008 when BS concentrated on Rossi & less on Casey/Stoner that's why Stoner fell back, now that's a proven fact!

Maybe you should stop trying to belittle Rossi's 9 championships because we can do it to you beloved Stoner as well even though I don't like getting to that stage.

If & buts don't work in racing so stop trying to create excuses to why Rossi won 9 titles!

What you Stoner lovers cant deny is the Ducati had a significant top speed advantage in 2007. Look at the data from Qatar, the ducatis were over 10kmph faster than the factory Yamahas! Similar difference at Turkey, Mugello etc. It wasnt just a few kmph here and there. Did Casey ride the wheels off it? Hell yeah but there was more to it.

Slow my butt!
The Duc is always amongst the fastest bikes out there. The factory have provided a monster of an engine that each alternate weekend Rossi describes as 'too slow' then 'too agressive' the next with more swingarms and frames than the hyosung factory could pump out in a decade!
It's up to the riders to make it faster through the corners, time he owned up to his own inability to achieve what the Aussie farmboy did week in, week out.

I know my memory isn't the best but I was under the impression Loris was Casey's team mate in 07 and Marco (whom by the way I thought would give Casey a good run for his money) was his pathetic team mate in 08. By the way Loris was the only Italian who was any good on the Ducati.
Perhaps in years to come Loris will go down in history as the only Italian to win on Ducati, I really hope however that will not be the case.
