"Lorenzo is easily the better rider who is having to ride defensively on inferior machinery and thoroughly deserves the title...."
Yamaha has consistently been the best handling MotoGP /500cc bike for 30 years.
"and when Stoner won his championship the Ducati was a rocketship"
Yes, and it stopped and turned about as effectively as one...which is why Capirossi came 7th, Barros 10th and Hoffman 13th on Ducati that year. Have a look at Tech 3 this year. Spies results on Yamaha are an anomaly this year.

nope, Yamaha have had a tire advantage in 2008,2009, and 2012, the whole handling thing is a bunch of crap, their electronics has set them apart since 2008, before that Honda was the better bike, accept King Rossi and his might alongside some quality engineering made for the better bike. 2007, Honda had the better bike, just not the better rider, 2008-2009 Yamaha dominated, Casey could do nothing against, Ducati kept going in the wrong direction.

Yamaha get credited for a lot of crap thats not true because of commentators who get on the air to sell their products. You dont have a better handling bike you make it a better handling bike by suiting it to your abilities and attributes. Yamaha have had the benefit of Rossi and all the money he brought on, now that he has been gone for a while and Honda took some techs Honda are the baddest.

Can anyone explain this belief that some have that Dorna want Yamaha and Lorenzo to win? Is it because Lorenzo is Spanish?
I don't think so as the team being affected by this alleged interference has a Spanish rider and a very important Spanish sponsor (Repsol) who people also say are responsible for changing the rules for Marquez.
In other words, the conspiracy theorists say that Yamaha are favoured by Dorna but then say Honda are favoured by Dorna.
Make your mind up guys!

My view is that the race was stopped correctly - the fact that it was unsafe to restart reinforces that.

I also think race direction recalled the events of last year and did not want any further serious crashes.

@professor'x'
your charactor assasination of Jorge Lorenzo would be laughable if it wasn't so misguided... this person you're defending - isn't he the same guy who's under-achieved in the Repsol "works" team for the last 4 years and is now "GIFTED" the opportunity for the championship by the misfortune of his team mate?. Isn't he the same guy that hurled abuse at Marco Simoncelli for his own mis-judgement and then looked pretty sheepish at his rememberance ceremony....and the same guy that was involved in fraud trying to get his yacht certification!! Sorry guys, doesn't get my vote....

go back to Indy 2009 when they raced in the Hurricane. after the race, which Rossi won after red flag, during the post race interview Rossi said he "did not want to put up the finger for the red flag" because he was leading and it felt cheap to win that way.

i'm sure the interview is on youtube somewhere. go look for yourself

"Yamaha ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO LOSE THIS YEAR. MOTOGP IS FIXED. Fixed to feed 'drama' in to a controlled racing series to attract idiot fans." professor x

So you claim Race Direction is complicit in a plot organised by, let me guess, Dorna, the bogeyman which gets blamed by ignorant fans for the fuel limit and change to 800s dictated by the MSMA. If MotoGP was really fixed to provide drama, the race would've been allowed to continue in the hope Lorenzo would crash out or lose places to make the championship as close as possible. You've implied Race Direction is corrupt. Crash should delete your comment before they receive a libel writ, unless they think your accusation is so patently ridiculous that nobody could possibly take it seriously.

lolz, i hope you know most professional sports is fixed to some degree. Maybe you should be more critical about your listening skills, the commentators 'tell' the narrative of the races, they promote what Dorna/Sponosors want people to hear. Just listen to Nick and Gav promote who the establishment want to win, its too obvious, but I guess for someone who wants to be establishment, thats okay for you M1M.

@mrfill The arguments in favour of Dorna conspiracies are all rubbish, mainly because they contradict each other.

Let's look at the two popular ones at the moment.

1. Dorna want Marquez to win Moto2 because he rides for a Spanish sponsored team and he's Spanish.

2. Dorna want Lorenzo to win because he's Spanish.

Now you could believe in the former, but the latter is full of holes. If Dorna want a Spaniard riding for Repsol to win in Moto2 why do they not want a Spaniard riding for Repsol to win in MotoGP? Doesn't make sense does it?

The conspiracy theory that Dorna are fixing the championships so that Spanish riders and teams can win has been around for a while, but it's only fairly recently that it's become so popular. And the problem there is that now that it's popular there are unthinking idiots who simply use it to detract from any Spanish rider or indeed support any none Spanish rider.

Hell I've even heard more than one idiot jump a tall conclusion from a standing start and
