MotoGP » Lucky escape for Lorenzo

“In the last lap I almost crashed. I have been very, very lucky because one '0' here would mean the championship was much more difficult” – Jorge Lorenzo.

The choice of tyre in a race is like gambling. If the right choice is made, you perform well in the race.On the contrary you live with it.If Jorges choice of soft rear tyre has paid off,and was doing great in the race, would he have raised his hand up for the race to be stopped?

Well done lil Dani.

J-Lo was very very very lucky today.

J-Lo choose the wrong tyres, soft compound tyres, and they were starting to go off. He saw Casey and the others hunting him down rapidly. J-lo thought, if the race goes on for another 2 laps, I'll be sixth if I stay on. So, what shall I do. Quick, I will put my hand up and say STOP THE RACE NOW! I will keep putting my hand up again again and again till they stop the race. Better to be second than sixth.

Like I said, J-Lo was very very very lucky today.

Now all J-Lo needs is that chicken sticker on the helmet!

Only leading rider can asked/sugest to stop the race!!! I don't question the racing being stopped I question the moment they red flagged it. Why didn't they run the extra 2 laps needed to stop it? Why did Dorna stop the race when only one rider asked to stop it? and btw the rider who was just to be overtaken!
Dorna screwed it big time and Lorenzo will be the most unworthy champion I can remember of in MotoGP

If Gorgeous George thought it was unsafe, there is always the option to pull into the pits.
That is the sporting alternative to attempting to influence the rule makers in case he falls off and doesn't get the result he is after.
Try winning with balls, George.

any of you ever thought that it would be better if Danni took more points of Lorenzo?
This would lead to a last race conclusion, bringing more viewers, more money so not in Dorna's interest to stop the race in favour of Lorenzo.

AFAIK the fact that a rider, be it the WC, championship or race leader, raises his hand doesn't mean that the race direction has to oblige. It is the race direction to decide not the riders (unless most of them suddenly go slowly and then, morally at least, the race direction should red flag immediately... but even then, it is race direction decision...)

So, Jorge raising his hand was just a mean of him showing the race direction that the conditions were unsafe and implicitly asking for the red flag. If he felt he wasn't like racing on ice he wouldn't have lost that much time to Stoner. Dani and Stoner, however, felt more comfortable and safe and therefore weren't consider that the conditions were so bad. It was the race direction task to understand from each rider's attitude how safe the track was. A difficult task in any case...

What if? What if? What if?

What if the race had carried on & Dani had fallen off, Jlo would be world champion!!!!

To many riders fell, the conditions dangerous.

Red flag was the correct decision.

LORENZO YOU SAP! You once again bottle it when the going gets a little tough...You rob us all of a proper race because your dummy was about to fall out. Rea, DeAngelis and West never put their hands up in Moto2 and complained about the wet weather neither did Pedrosa...They just got on with it and raced hard like they should.
What you now need Lorenzo is to wear a glizty girls handbag around your shoulder all the time.. This way you will confirm what we already know that you are a 1st class jessie...Oh how we all miss Marco Simoncelli a true racer who raced with the heart of a lion and the eyes of a devil...He would have rattled you all the way this year making you take your bat and ball home every race and crying like the weak boy you are...

Stoner and Pedrosa would have liked the race to go on, no one else waved their hand, only Lorenzo like a paniky chicken cause he was about to be overtaken cause he chose the wrong tyre. Pathetic!!!
