Without sounding rude, but I want to be brutally honest, he's not really a top rider is he? And a bit of a blame merchant. Bit inept at motogp last time round (yes, yes, the frame..) and then BSB on the Swan bike and the Airwaves bike. Both goes were a bit lacklustre (and if you read a Superbike mag article, these were down to the bikes and/or the crew. But not James. And the World Supersport and AMA years? Both were bikes and/or crew/team issues. Kind of like his brother, both nice fellas but you wouldn't bet your house on them both doing very good in a championship.

cristiano de grammini- It's not untrue what James has said they have only just got the new engine and he has done no testing, I think he has done a good job and not crashed to much...as for he's not really a top rider is he?. what top rider would want to ride this bike top WSB riders don't want to !!

This bloke's a work horse, and that's what a developing team needs. This is the man that was working 70 hours a week on a building site, so he could afford to go racing. Respect. Oh and the reason he wasn't great on the Swan? He had a broken leg!!!

He's done a good solid job and it would be a good idea to keep him on to retain his knowledge.

If he gets a good team mate and they have the budget for a test programme their results will improve.

Having met James - I can only say the guy gives 110%.
He's pushing the bike to its limits and doing a good job with some great results in the circumstances.

message to PBM - keep James!

sorry but i have to disagree, Ellison was 2nd in bsb in 2009 on the airwaves yam, beat Easton in 2010 on the swan Honda, when he missed 2 rounds, he didn't do too well on the smt Honda on 2011 but after he got used to the bike he was near the podium, and he started half way through the season. personally i think he deserves to stay as he's a hard worker. but maybe with a team that will work with him

CRT is a rubbish idea and a certain career killer, who can look good on a bike that is nearly 5 seconds off the pace at many tracks?
Ellisons career has been full of promise and nearly moments, but you can't criticise the guy for want of effort.
Bird has shown himself to be a ruthless employer at times, and his results haven't always equalled all the talk, compare the teams Tom Sykes rode for over the last two season for one obvious example.
Undermining your only rider in GP in the middle of the season isn't the smartest method of motivation, and it's hard to see Shaky being dim enough to want to scratch around at the back of the GP field next year, he has already been there and seen the prospects for the average British rider.
GP currently is a very wounded animal and the same fools running it are about to put their talons into WSB so BSB might be a far better place to ply your trade for awhile.

If he would of got the real financial support from PBM and some real testing, and some real support from Aprilia, the results would be alot different...and if Paul Bird is blameing his rider that's, freaking rubbish!!! Get on a real team Ellison.
Good Luck to you James..you deserve better treatment than what your getting

CRT is a career killer? Not sure about that pirro has put himself in a great position and petruci is on the worst CRT out there or was and he has been given tests on the Ducati he has impressed me massively its all about weather people want to spend a year on these things seeing how close they can get to the prototypes finishing in front of one prototype or two each round will show your talent

Swan Honda or swanhydrex whatever you want to call them never once got a podium until James came into their team . He broke his femur and still won the riders cup . He was runner up airwaves and for what .two year deal not honoured . I thought Ellison
Had a two year deal with birdie . In fact I spoke to him in spain at a test and that's what he told me . No honor there then
Do the mechanics get to keep their jobs
