MotoGP » Casey Stoner: I didn't expect those lap times

“We were able to go quite a lot faster than everybody with almost race distance on our soft tyres and then we put the hard tyre on and were able to improve again” - Casey Stoner.

@DB8 A big enough favour making sure Jorge doesn't win? A favour, sure, but big enough, no.

Even if Dani wins both the remaining races his earlier third and fourth places mean that Jorge can finish third and fourth in those races and still clinch the title.

Even so whatever Casey says I think he'll be going for the win, but I also think there's a good chance his ankle won't be strong enough to let him ride 100% for full race distance.

Its is best circuit, but ey guys dont come with the bull**** aim hurt him my leg, because i didnt wach that him every corner he make, now aim waching the way he ride at the star of the year.. Is fast and do better then any other rider at Phil 4sure, he will have all chances to win but the race is allways the race we will see..

Love him or hate him, we all know Casey is blindingly fast and for this he will be missed.
And I find Lorenzo's comments to be spot on: on this circuit, Stoner is in another league. I find it interesting that some circuits tend to suit certain riders extremely well, and when you have the talents of any of the top three, one often dominates. I suspect we might see that occur again on Sunday.

Some of the gap can be attributed to the engine rule. Jorge will run FP on a tired engine while Casey has a fresh mill.

This can make up a few tenths around PI but not close the huge gap Casey already pulled out while not being 100%. Dani needs to get the lead out, he has an engine advantage on a fast track and also gets to see Casey's data. Pull the plug little man and try to be there if fitness becomes an issue for Stoner.

Anyone who thinks Casey can be beaten on this track must be delusional or blind as to whats going on in front of their very eyes. He just loves it here, i seriously think he could put the duke up the front here still (and probably only here). Will miss the boy next year.
Hopefully Rossi can mix up the spanish title next year.
