MotoGP » Casey Stoner: I didn't expect those lap times

“We were able to go quite a lot faster than everybody with almost race distance on our soft tyres and then we put the hard tyre on and were able to improve again” - Casey Stoner.

Dear smthy,

I guess you missed this part.

“My ankle is in a lot worse condition than in Motegi but coming here, there are a lot less right hand corners, it's nice to take a bit of weight off it.”

What these men can do on a bike is incredible, and what they can do when wounded is simply staggering. Most of us would be in a wheel chair with that injury.

Sticky...Being in a league of his own at one track hasn't won casey a lot of world championships has it. Being in a league of your own at lots of tracks year in year out is what wins you world championships. Casey cant string two world championships together can he. So while its great for casey to say i dont want to let 60,000 fans down at phillip island this weekend, he's quite prepared to leave all his fans high and dry by leaving motogp altogether.
It would be nice for once to hear Casey selflessly dedicate this weekends race to his long suffering fans, but i wouldn't hold your breath.

LC,

Why is this such an issue for you? Here's what you posted earlier
"Wouldn't it be nice to hear Casey Stoner dedicate his last race at philip island to his many loyal fans who have steadfastly stood by him throughout his motogp career.
Dont hold your breath.
He's giving you all the finger and leaving.
What a man."

I make consumer electronics products that millions of people enjoy. Have I once thought they owe me gratitude for purchasing and enjoying these products, No!

You have this belief that you as a fan are somehow responsible for Rossi's success and he appropriately thanks you for it as all riders should. Aren't you then quite a bit upset that he "Won't ride like Stoner", has achieved nothing at all for his ridiculous salary? is that why you have to lash out at other riders and belittle their achievements?

Therapy, Laid or get a life, please pick one.

Rossi's pass in the corkscrew was sloppy at best. He has pulled off plenty of better passes than that. Now Stoner's pass on Lorenzo in turn 1 at Laguna was a spectacular feat. Though not as picturesque, that turn ranks up there with turn 3 a Philip Island.
