"Jorge Lorenzo intends to wrap up the MotoGP world title at Phillip Island on Sunday by finishing ahead of chief rival Dani Pedrosa."

Where in Jorge's comments does it say he "intends" to do as you say? Sure he'd like to do that. Indeed he'll be trying to beat Dani. However as you said in an earlier story he knows he doesn't have to try too hard and take risks. To beat Dani is, if you like, on his "desirable" list rather than his "mandatory" list.

I see nowhere in his comments that even suggests he "intends" to wrap up the title this weekend.

Lorenzo used one of his oldest engines in fp1 and 2, he's been doing that for the last gp's. He probably will use it again in fp3. So his real pace is likely to be 0.5 faster more or less.

"Rossi has a better career record at phillip island than stoner."

Casey's 5-in-a-row was done against Rossi. Rossi's 5-in-a-row was NOT done against Casey.

Rossi is a top rider, but has a very flattering record thanks mostly to years of superior hardware against weak opposition.

That much is clear now.
