The media machine demands comments from every rider after every session and tends to publish these comments as stories even if they are not really worthy.

Sometimes they can even make it look like riders are being arrogant, when they're not.

The comments from Dovi and Bautista are classic examples. Here we have two riders separated by less than a fifth of a second. Both citing setup problems, one front one rear, and saying that with those issues sorted they could go faster.

Taken in isolation you could believe either of them. Taken together you realise the picture is more complex. What if they both sort their issues and go faster? What if only one of them does? What if neither does? What if everybody else goes faster?

What if somebody wrote a proper insightful piece rather than just regurgitating press releases as individual "stories"?
