For those who keep saying Dani has an unfair weight advantage that we only have to look at how he always takes the holeshot no matter where he qualifies.. How do you explain Jorge in his first two motogp seasons always lost places at starts, he got fed up so started working on that, since then progressively got better and better starts and now I noticed he has been taking the hole shot at every race, NOT Dani. So is it just a matter of weight or is also to do with set-up and technique? If Dani has such an UNFAIR weight advantage how come Jorge is beating him to the first corner consistently?

Agreed. If Pedro has such a huge advantage because of his light weight, how come he hasnt won a premier class title?
If it was that much of an advantage he would romp the title every year right?
Obviously not that important then is it.

Pedrosa on the Honda beat Stoner in the 250s in 2006. Stoner was runner up and the only Aprilia in the top 5 and was over 100 points ahead of the next best Aprilia ridden by the 2005 runner up, Sebastian Porto. He was also 87 points ahead of Lorenzo that year. So I wouldn't say Stoner's efforts in his only year in the 250's was anything to be ashamed of.

Dani is gonna have to play the long game on this one, hes hurting in sectors 2 and 3, but Jorge is not as fast as his qualifying suggests, Dani and Jorge look about even, its gonna be a test of wills, if Dani wants it more than Jorge is willing to risk Dani can still take it. Dani's rear tire should keep longer than Lorenzo's and chatter shouldnt be too much of an issue.

It's up to Dani to get in front of Lorenzo and then slow down (while preventing passing) for the rest to catch up and get in the way. Otherwise, it's going into Valencia with Dani down 19 points, which would be very hard to overcome. Shades of the 2004 Rossi vs. Gib at PI. (without the Stoner of course).

Dani's got the pace for Jorge, jorge was fishing for qualy pace not race pace, the only reason to press pass jorge early is to see if Dani can keep up with Casey/see what his lines are, Im thinking 2/3rds race distance and Dani will have Jorge again, if its dry. If its wet, its when ever Dani passes Jorge, dont think Jorge will risk passing. Dani's gotta get some good feel for turns 1 & 2 though. Dani is not far off in the last sector ~2/10s and Casey will not be able to hold his qualifying pace during the race. Dani can take Casey over race distance if hes with in 3 seconds of Casey by mid race I think. Gonna be tough especially seeing how light and less reach hes got (turning stability.)
