Mick won on one machine for all of his titles and you want to call him the GOAT? No...lol

Great rider but Stoner is more accomplished than him having won on a duc and a honda.

Now now fella's that we will never know however Mick was one of the few ( actually the best of the few )who came from superbikes rather than coming through the GP 125s and 250s.

There is something called loyalty, Honda gave mick a decent bike and he rewarded them with 5 titles and loyal service to this day. Did he care that a few wanted to see him on another make? Doubt it...

@ nikisan. Are you soft in the head? A five time world champion who tamed a killing machine (NSR500) & then untamed it to regain the advantage (Sreamer to big-bang then back to screamer to "phase the opposition"). He could sit in pits for most of qualifying & go out in the last couple of minutes & destroy the pole time. He would of had many more titles if it weren't for horrible injuries. Stoner & even Rossi do not come close to the legend of Doohan. Stoner won his 1st title on a bike(yes the Duke) that was way way faster them anything else that year . He is a talanted rider no doubt but lacks the commitment/aggresion/balls of steel of Doohan. As for the one bike, people forget the Honda was **** until Doohan/Burgess sorted it. At the end of the day Stoner is an over rated quitter whilst Doohan is the hardest man alive!

Now now don't start bickering amongst yourselves about who is better between Doohan and Stoner for crying out loud!!!You are talking about completely different eras never mind bikes with electronic aides etc. Doohan rode what I call a proper bike, while Stoner rides a bike that is controlled by a lap-top and a system that programmes it's every move - or just about!!! No contest really when you think about it!!

Stoner is a fantastic rider, one ive cheered for since he stepped up to motogp.
But those dissing Doohan really need their head sorted. The man is a legend through and through. Always carried himself well and didnt let the media circus get to him.

As has been stated before, Stoner lacks the ambition to match the talent.
