Out of many great riders in motogp, for me, and for me only, the greatest of all time rider is Hailwood: however, i still can't believe i won't be seeing such a formidable, sublime talent in 2013 anymore. Whatever his reason for turning down quite a handsome amount of money from honda was, or whatever his reason for his retirement was, i guess only Stoner knows his priorities himself. I can only hope that he'll return in the not-so-distant future, and if/when he returns, i believe he'll still have the touch to rock motogp again. :)

What's Rossi have to do with Jorges comment. That has been rehashed from weeks ago, thanks to crash.
Stoners 125 title.... nil, ziltch, zero.
Rossi's 125 titles... numero uno, 1, one.
Stoners 250 titles... nil, ziltch, zero.
Rossi's 250 titles.... numero uno, 1, one.

Have fun with that wylie dingo. lol.

@Seagull - yes, and both Stoner and Hailwood could ride a Ducati. They also both won on bikes that definitely weren't the best in the competition.

@And your point is...
Rossi 80% myth, 20% clown - wins on the best bike only, can't ride a Ducati.
Stoner 80% raw talent, 20% controversy - can win on practically anything. Upsets Rossi fans relentlessly.

Rossi is a great rider, but stats comparisons are misleading. Not so long ago, stats said Lance Armstrong was the most successful Tour de France rider of all time...Now, not so much. I'm not implying Rossi cheated AT ALL, just pointing out how stats can be misused. But he certainly had "special" parts to help with some of those titles.

His limitations as a rider and "great bike developer" have been on display for 2 years now. Doesn't discredit his record, just punctures a myth.

No Rossi won't stick his neck out to ride the Ducati like Stoner did, by his own admission. So what?
And like it has been said many many times, Stoner only won a title on it in 07 and...........ah what's the use, only 1 more race and all the delusional Stoner fans will dissapear into the sunset just like him. Thank god.

Really, based on the comments I'm hearing Stoner is the greatest racer ever what a load of bull. Don't get me wrong he's an extreme talent by so were the others that proceeded him. Stoner is no goat and neither is Rossi, but Rossi is a 9x champ, Jlo is a 4x champ, Dani is a 3x champ, and Stoner is a 2x champ. As it stands now history will show Rossi to be the greatest of the 4. He holds titles all three classes and won the last 500cc championship. Will Rossi win another title I doubt it, but the guy has a heck of a resume.

Everybody's making the most out of Vale's bad times, cant blame them coz they've been waiting for 10years to kick the man when he's down. they got a chance in 2006 and 2007 but he bounced back the next 2 years and added 2 more titles his long list. now who wont miss this golden chance when he's failed with Ducati. So we see so much love between Jorge and Casey, both of them cant stop saying how much respect they have for each other..ha ha..:) Media is going ga ga abt Casey and Jorge. But it's going to be fun in 2013. As Vale says victory will be sweeter...:)

That's what everyone says. Stoner is simply awesome. Not only has he arrived and delivered, setting the bar to super max since he's been in MotoGP, he's also systematically owned, destroyed, and utterly decimated the myth that was Rossi in the process.
