And then we wouldn't have MotoGP. We would have the equivalent of NASCAR with a cookie cutter formula and name badges stuck on. MotoGP is about innovation and many of it fans appreciate the technical battle as much as the on track battle. What you have is a small number of riders who can push these bikes to the limits. By dumbing down the formula you let lesser riders compete with the best. I would rather be assured that the best riders in the world are the ones fighting for first place. At the moment there are three of them. One is leaving and hopefully at least two, Rossi and Marqez, are being added. Who knows, Davisioso or one of the new Ducati jockeys might love the bike and add to the alien list.

@WylieCoyote:

The problem is, with technical innovation comes advantage, and more chance of clearing off into the distance and " the race was boring " cry because the racing is not close any more, so what's it to be.

@WylieCoyote:

Rubbish! They might be "Aliens" in your opinion but they have for the most part a competitive advantage, Casey being the exception to the rule as he made a good job on the Ducati where everybody else has failed. Unless you have a level playing field you can never state with any certainty that Lorenzo would be any quicker than say Cal or Dovi. You can only say for sure that Lorenzo is better than Spies as they are like machinery.

@ Strex,

The competitive advantage they have is they are faster than anyone else on the grid. Give Cal and Dovi a full factory Yamaha and Lorenzo would still put them in thier place.

Hard to beleive some riders are actually faster than others?

Put the entire Moto GP grid on spec machinery, and the top spots are not going to change. Lorenzo, Rossi, Stoner and Pedrosa will still make the rest look average (which they are not).

@Strex:

I agree, it is speculation on CRT'S part, on absolutely equal machinery plus time to get it dialed in to the riders preference, with plenty of practice, but more importantly the same level of factory backing and technicians, i too feel 3 or 4 more riders could be up with the aliens.

Should be a race at the end of the year, top 3 from every major championship in the world all on the same 1000 bike,maybe alternate brands each year, sit back and watch the fireworks. Or at least have a Des Nations like moto X does.
