@Strex Saying Stoner is better than Pedrosa, but has had a bad year is pointless. As in "you don't get any points for potential". You get points for where you finish. Anything else is just ifs and buts.

Stoner has finished behind Pedrosa this years and that's all the record books care about. Pedrosa was already ahead of Stoner before his crash. And given that Stoner managed to ride on that ankle I will never be convinced that he couldn't have completed the season on it. Plenty of riders have done it before. And no I can't excuse Stoner's retirement in Germany the way I can forgive Dani and Jorge their respective DNFs. Stoner fell because he did something stupid, nul points for that race is what the ride deserved. So Dani deserved to be ahead of Stoner going into Indianapolis.

@ petrolbonce - and some people are still convinced the moon landings were faked... get over it.

As for the rest - when did you get a chance to consult on the xrays of Stoner's ankle?... obviously you must have some inside info if you can be so assured that he could've ridden the whole rest of the season?

As for the anti-electronics brigade - geez get a life or go watch some classic bike racing... either or I don't care which - you certainly won't be missed

Of course another way of looking at this is that we now have a season end race with the shackles of the championship removed, no need to preserve a safe position, no need to worry about blowing an engine, just a pure straightforward race....and in amongst it the battle of pride to finish fifth (there's also a battle for top CRT to resolve but I find it difficult to get excited about that...)
What's being suggested here, that the BSB 'shootout' system would be viable? Please God no!! That would be the end of GP racing as a sport and victory for those that are in it purely as a means of generating profit.

Stoner also ended up in 8th place in his first MotoGP season with the LCR Honda squad... so it really isn't too bad of a result for Bradl. Also, that's where Stoner got the nickname rolling Stoner for crashing very often.
