However, in conditions when it rains and it levels the field out, young Bradley doesn't perform any better. He crashes or finishes down the field, just like he does in the dry."
Silverstone last year. Dodgy conditions, brad starting well back, produced the ride of his life to finish second (in a race where a certain Spanish champion pretty much crumbled in the conditions incidently).
Some of the ignorance on this website is utterly mind boggling some times. It's not exactly a secret that the tech 3 moto2 bike isn't all that competetive, yet brad is consistenly beating a number of ex world champions on far better machinery. That isn't an opinion, it's fact, check the results sheets.

Your obviously a Bradley Smith fan.

It would appear he will ride Dovis bike with any available 2013 updates. Correct.

How long does he get to match Dovis pace at the various circuits.

Is Smiths Tech3 contract for 2 years.

Is it a performance based contract.

@ Md Zane
Yes, he has, he has zero podiums this year. He had the MotoGP contract after he took those 3 podiums. It was at the half of his first season. Clearly Tech 3 expected he will get a lot more. If he got, he would deserve his MotoGP seat, but no podiums since.

@ petrolbonce
Yamaha took the rider's championship title, and Smith will be on a Yamaha. Not the same as Lorenzo's, but this year Tech 3 was the best satellite bike.

Brad should but a lottery ticket given his luck at landing such a ride so far in advance before it all comes down to results!

Lets remind ourselves that all things being equal the bike is capable of the odd podium and anything less than top 7 for even a new rider could be questionable/embarrassing when you take out the CRT boys and smaller teams there isn't much left.

I hate to say it but given a winter of testing, i'll give him the first 3 races but after that no excuses i'll be expecting consistent top 6 places ,

I am already prepared for "he,'s still getting used to it".

I hope the sponsors will feel the same way.

Good luck Brad!

Maddog31. An honest assessment of his chances.

Smiths problems are compounded by rubbish statements in his blogs like

Valencia. At a circuit where I won my last grand prix.

MEANING

In 2010 I won at Valencia on a 125. It was 1 of my total of 3 wins in any Moto Class.

God this is boring - I must be mad for contributing.

Herve picks the riders - so he know what hes doing.

Smiths Moto2 bike is pants. He does well to get top 10. Check his teammates results and all the other world champs results in Moto2. Its very far from a level playing field. Bradleys bike is pretty much unchanged from last year. Toni Elias won it then was now where. Unlocking the potential of the right chassis is key here.

I hate when people criticise someone who does something they could never, ever do.

I think Bradley will do OK next year - which is what is expected. I dont think hes an Alien, but could get close - no one knows.

On another note - I think Ben Spies is a class act and perhaps could even be an alien in waiting (when he gets his head back together). What he did in WSBK was incredible.
