@Trent
You are right on the money there mate. The good riders dominate their team mates, and if the reason that the team arent winning is because they are on underpowered machinery then wet races level the field allowing Ant West style performances. Smith has done neither. I'll give him one season then he will be begging for a ride on the worst bike in BSB.

...i find it utterly disgusting that fellow Brits have launched such attacks on Brad... show some support ffs!! He is a good rider, there maybe other moto2 riders that could also of been given the motogp ride....but the fact is Brad has the ride so respect the decision and support him.
Like in life, there are too many people on here that are full of crap and talk too much crap....stop trolling...stop being a keyboard warrior...and no, you can not ride a motorbike as fast as those riders who you criticise! Idiots.
So i say good luck Brad and all the British riders, ill be cheering you on!

Why can posters criticizing Bradley just hold there fire until he has had at least thrown a leg over the M1, as for comments regarding his suitability or worthiness for the ride that is now history, irrelevant, done and dusted, lets just wait and see.

A few objective points here:

1. Herve doesn't *always* get it right. Several of his signings in the past (including Toseland) didn't work out too great. Because the fact is nobody really knows for sure how a rider will perform when moving to the MotoGP class. Sometimes you have to take a risk.

2. Bradley was signed hastily because at the time Crutchlow was going through a run of horrible form, and it didn't look like he'd last more than his contracted 2nd year at Tech 3. And Herve needed to ensure that continuity of having a UK rider (nice Dorna cash) and Monster sponsorship (Bradley is personally sponsored by them). It was a very political signing.

3. Both Herve and Yamaha have since - allegedly - regretted that hastiness, and rumours of legal action to break the contract surfaced this year. So it hasn't necessarily been the happiest or smoothest of signings. And it does suggest a certain lack of confidence in Bradley's ultimate potential.

All that said, he is certainly a far better rider than the Mistral allows him to show, and should be capable on a Tech 3 10000 of running with Iannone, Hayden etc. on the Dukes. Whether he progresses beyond that nobody really knows yet.

The consensus amongst most journos and commenters seems to be that Bradley will do a fair job, but that Espargaro (and to a lesser extent Redding) are the real talents from Moto2 right now, and that it seems unfair that they've being obliged to remain in that class for another year while Brad moves up. Personally I'd have to agree with that.

Best of luck to BS nonetheless. Never any harm in going in as an underdog..

@ Don-R

Well said.

@ Riley

Its not HATE. Reeeel motorcyle fans dont HATE riders. They may have their favourites and good luck to them.

Its about perspective.

Forget the spin and bulldust (and half the ****e in bradders blog). Your comments show a lot of passion. At this point in time BS38 has not got it. The Brits are absolutely desperate for a world motorcycle champion and your comments about him being the best only prove my point. I hope he proves me wrong and we see another alien. My money is on Crutchlow.

@ aussie
Fair enough- you may be right to back Cal, i do too tbf, but lets give Brad a chance, if were lucky in the not to distant future we may even have two brits up the front to cheer and Redding following shortly :)
