I would like to thank Casey for all his exploits I have had the privelidge to have witnessed.
I wish him and his family all the best.
There is a life outside Moto GP and he has nothing left to prove.

Wahay you got what I was saying! And yes he did have an advantage in 07, and yes he also does have the ability to ride round problems but that's been a big part of the problem causing the downfall of the ducati, because he could ride around the problems they didn't think there was anything wrong with it and either did nothing or didn't know which direction to take development.
Unlike most I don't really care who wins the as long as it has been a good one, unlike yourself who quite clearly fly your flag from stoner's pole.

What the hell ? Casey's going to be missed for sure.
The only interest in 2013 will revolve around Dani and George. Marc will prolly have a Casey'esque first season in GP. Lightning quick but inconsistent. Learning BS rubber will be his biggest issue. Rossi. Well, next Tusday's Tissot scoreboard will be the pre-cursor for 2013.

Stoner did have a huge machine advantage in 07. That's why his team mate Loris finished the season in a comfortable 2nd. Didn't he?. Oops! I'm not quite as good at sweeping and deflecting as my fellow yellow extremists.

From the 17 races this year, a Ducati has claimed the weekend's top speed 6 times (0.35), and a Honda has done it 9 times (0.53). Again...what top speed advantage does the Ducati have?

In 2007, a Ducati accomplished the feat 15/18 times! The other 3? A tiny Dani Pedrosa on the Honda.

THAT BEING SAID ... I don't think top speed advantages are the be all and end all of championships. Stoner certainly deserved it in 2007, and a lot of things worked well that year, aside from the motor. However, let's not make up crap. The Ducati is not the top speed master anymore, so don't use that as a reason to continue to bash their riders.

Glad I got to see Stoner's entire career on track, just a shame that by the time some so called race fans remove their blinkersCasey will have gone for good and they'll have missed it . Thanks again CS #27

@ 678.
ducati's 6 top speeds this year is proof enough it still has a top speed advantage , some of those top speeds were from barbera on the satellite.
a bike will only go as fast as one is willing push it , in other words the chances are if stoner was still on the ducati today it would still be showing off its true top speeds.

crash stop deleting peoples comments that are slightly negative to stoner ,where do all these fans come from cos you aint at the races where you can hear an echo where the 27 flag wavers are, the man is rude and abrupt .

Have to agree start to finish, those of us who have actually seen him on track are very fortunate.
For me his speed down Craner Curves and the old hairpin (those who have rode it will understand better) was terrifying but spellbinding.
The many images on the TV don't do justice until you hear the engine note and realise traction control means nothing particular in qualifying.
Whether you like him or not I fear it may be a while until we see another rider as fearless as him (OK Depuniet, but he loses it more).
