I'll miss Casey because it's good to have opposing personalities who also happen to be amazing talents.

To the Rossi fans, I would say to have some grace and respect a rider who has clearly shown us some of the most amazing stuff we've ever seen. No need to bash CS because VR is still a legend.

To the Stoner fans, drop the "Stoner is better than Rossi because of his Ducati results". The only thing similar is the brand, which is a shadow of its former self. 2007 this is not, and in 2012 the Ducati is miles behind the other bikes.

Respect for both riders, but since I've called out both fan bases, I'll expect nothing but thumbs down.

Today' bikes are no easier to ride at 100% than the 500cc Two Strokes. Todays aliens would have been the front runners on the 500's and vice verci. Today's bikes are easier to trundle around at less than 100%.

Bye Bye Casey, You ride great but I wont miss your 3 year old, brat like personality..

And Rossi.. you are a great racer but man you have one humongous ego , whoa, like wayyy too over sized for what you can do. I am glad Casey showed him up but i dunno if either of these bozos are great for the series. Casey is already making bad news in the touring car series he wants to get into.

When you have the titles to back you up, you don't have to use word to justify your talent. Doohan's case, for instance. And Rossi would too if he didn't mess his own stats (and his own confidence and mind) with the Ducati disaster. Stoner, however, (as Spencer) do have to rely on the kindness of his own fans to defend the dimension of his greatness. Because both Stoner and Spencer really were brilliant, but not for the "necessary" lenght of time, not even being able to do back-to-back titles, which I am sure both deeply regret...

Rossi's die hard fanboys keep talking about what happn at Laguna 08 to little stoner.
Rea comment about aragon 12 just made me laught a lot.

I thought j. Rea learnt from rossi how to break rider chasing you right on ur tail like what rossi did to stonr at Laguna 08. Did you john?
John you just learnt it well, you also did apply it well.. Wondering, Why did you apply it to your mentor first ''THE MASTER OF CHEAT'' ? Lol.,

Yeah he's good. All time best? Far, far from it.

Now that he's retiring he'll obviously never equal Rossi's numbers Kenny, but while they've been on track together Stoner has outperformed Rossi despite riding the career killer Ducati for most of that time.No way anyone that saw them competing could say Rossi was the better rider, especially after his time on the Ducati. I think there's every chance Rossi will go down as the GOAT, but people will still know that Stoner was the BOAT - Best of all Time.

Never say never

@ Wylie.
Don't recall any of the riders that have ridden both classes of bikes saying that.
Actually have heard comments over the years that the 4 strokes are a lot more "docile" than the 500's.
Even your hero has stated that he is disappointed he never got to race them (500's) for that reason.
A power-band that "snaps" in without wheelie and traction control on a 500 GP bike is the same as the bikes there on now, I don't think so.
