Nobody figures anywhere.

If I need to spell it out for the hard of thinking I will:

This is FREE PRACTICE. Not a race, not qualifying. And it's taking place under less than ideal conditions. Even in perfect conditions some riders are out there pushing the limits, some are trying different setups, some are even just learning the track. In the wet you have to factor in that some are avoiding taking risks. And in drying conditions all bets are off.

As such the times are academic.

The point I was trying to make above is that the pro Hayden crowd of this morning were being foolish.

free practice has been a big let down all year.
until dorna allow more tyres on damp days there series is going to keep on slowly dying until all that is left is a couple of birds flying through the grandstand cobwebs munching long dead spiders.
everything is being restricted to the point where riders won't even be able to enter free practice due to fear of using engines or wasting a tyre.
thats one bunch of business folk i won't be hiring to manage food stamps.

@dacron Free Practice is just practice, it's not supposed to be entertainment. Most of the riders aren't out there competing. They're working on setup, learning the circuit and just, well, practicing. Watching it is more of an intellectual excercise than an entertainment, trying to work out what the riders are doing.

Have to agree on the tyres however. The GPC need to change the tyre rules to allow an allocation of inters. Also four pairs of wets is stupid when it's feasible that there could be six wet sessions in a weekend.

@petrolbonce .
thanks for explaining what free practice is for , i had no idea!.
my point is dorna is a business , they want to make money , to make money people need to show up and watch for three days , if riders can't come out and play because of too many restrictions on there toys then people won't want to sit there and watch birds eat dead spiders (is that an intellectual exercise ?) , they won't show up anymore on a Friday or satday.
eventually they will lose money rather than make money , or more so the circuit owners will and eventually pull out.
