I was at Valencia and I can assure blue flags were shown for 3-4 corners prior to the crash. The problem was, the dry line was only about 2 metres, he mis-timed it and was just a passenger once on the wet. Marquez was fantastic and the atmosphere great.

1. Were blue flags being waved
2. Blue flag being waved is to indicates that 'the rider is about to be overtaken'It does not mean get out the way.
3.For all Ellison knew Lorenzo was 10th and was trying to take his 9th place.

RThe bottom line is Lorenzo made a back call and paid the price.
Ellison did nothing wrong. All you haters will have to deal with it..

@Mike Hunt

1. Yes blue flags were being waved. Ellison had already passed several, so the excuse that he couldn't pull over safely at that point holds no water. He had already had several chances to get out of the way.

2. From the regs 1.22.1 "During the race, the rider concerned is about to be lapped. He must allow the following rider(s) to pass him at the earliest opportunity." So yes it does mean get out of the way.

3. You only get a blue flag when you are about to be lapped, so Ellison could not have thought the rider behind was in 10th.

When I was racing if you passed two blue flags without at the very least clearly checking how close the rider behind was then you were in trouble. If the rider actually caught you and you didn't get off the racing line you'd probably be looking at a black flag the next time you crossed the line.

Ellison didnt see the Blue Flags. It was also part of the track where it's almost impossible to overtake. No clue how Jorge thought he was gonna pass him there. Jorge himself has said that he lost control on a wet piece of track and highsided. Not James' fault. He didnt do anything wrong or dangerous, so why all the headhunters? Hello! Jorge's already World Champion?? Didn't make a blind bit of difference. He just wanted to win a home GP and pushed it too hard to overtake someone he was lapping,, if he'd have waited 2 seconds, Ellison would have been safely through the corner and Jorge could have blasted past him on the straight

Blue Flag
Shown waved at the flag marshal post, this flag indicates to a rider that he is about to be overtaken and he must allow the rider(s) following him to pass him at the earliest opportunity.

Not when youre banked over @ 120mph. Asuming there were blue flags being shown and the rider saw them at 120mph in the wet.

It stands though Lorenzo was impatetient and paid the price.
Not Ellisons fault,even Lorenzo acknoledges that.

Get over it.

pretty sure j-lo now holds the dubious record for the most 500 2-stroke like highsides in the modern 4-stroke era. :rolleyes: there's something about his preferred level of TC/map. whether 800 or 1000, his get offs are nearly identical, and they're always BIG...! michael jordan would say, "he's above the rim". i swear, there's gotta be like a half dozen different shots out there showing this guy inverted.
