Good on you stoner , thanks for all the memories....

Please come back after a few years after a clear leader has emerged and put the hurt on them even just as a one- off wildcard entry.

For those who love and hate CS, i am sure you will miss him because you will not have much things to argue on
I will come back to read the threads next yr to see whether anything new not only CS vs VR.
Anyway I will miss CS's riding style because it is very natural and unique.. Have a good day ahead..enjoy CS!

@ Powester

You know Powester, the current Rossi Ducati is better than the one Casey had and won on... Speaks volumes.

Get your facts straight and they might then hold some weight!

Stoner is a polarising person as one can see from the comments today and in the past. His personality is that of a moaner or that of a 'call it as he sees it' type of person and that approach alone peeved many.

IMO, he is a straight talker and because of that may not be well thought of in fandom, but no doubt he cares little as the plaudits of his peers mean much more that that of the average joe.

As to whether he is a legend, that all depends on one's take but if a one time champion can have a number retired, that a multiple time champion can be considered a legend (although personally I dislike the term and feel it does not suit Stoner).

As a rider I suspect he has had no peer in his big bike career and in that I refer to his style and sheer brutality of the way in which he rode. His style being so successful that some riders seems to have changed heir style recently to seemingly copy (Pedrosa, Bautista).

What must be remembered is that a legend is not judged on personality, but

Colin Edwards is a straight talker and he does it with good humour and a healthy amount of self deprication, something Casey sadly lacks.

Josh Brookes is similar and an Aussie to boot, so it's got nothing to do with nationality.

It's been a pleasure to watch Lorenzo mature over the past few years and although it's been amazig to watch Casey ride a bike, I only wish he would have matured in the same way, but I guess he'll always be a boy. The fawning wife at each race suggests this will be the case.

@ Giveway

When did I say the current Ducati was worse than the one Casey rode?

I didn't.

I simply stated that your comment was inaccurate, which it was.

Nice try at attempting to turn it around though.
