“My team are like my second family, we've been through a lot of ups and downs together and it's going to be difficult not to see them every week” – Casey Stoner.

There is this saying "Sometimes a person is never trully appreciated until he/she is gone", Stoner fits this saying. While he was around, biased Rossi Fanboyz slagged him with childish taunts of him being a moaner and frequently use Laguna Seca 2008 and past 7 championships as comparisons. Without Stoner around, most probably Rossi could have won more championship however, the reality is, Stoner was the most dominant rider most of the time on any track be it on Ducati or Honda. His peers acknowledged this, so does Rossi. Stoner is leaving on a high, a farewell befitting such a talented rider. May he find success & happiness in whatever his retirement plans are.

@shaken

I know, you think, only Rossi deserved it.
But you wrong, Casey can ride all, that make Rossi fast, but Rossi can drive only this, what perfect suited is + he had to have advantages in the past.

All racing fans understood, why Caseys is a legend.
Rossi said: I dont have any idea, how could Stoner be so fast on the Duc...
You know, but no one said, how could Rossi be fast on no matter what a bike, because everone could be fast on Rossis fast bike.

80% rider 20% bike - Casey is a legend
Rossi is a legend, but coparing same bike, his is aboout 2% of Caseys performance

Love him or loath him no one can say with a shred of honesty that Casey is anything other than a bike riding genius. He is not the most charismatic of men but then that is not what he gets paid for, he can be brutally honest which doesn't suit every one but is at least refreshing. Moto GP will miss him but if anyone can pick up his torch it is Marques!

@ Powester

Not only do you not understand my comment in the context of yourown previously, you fail to realise who you were having it with in the first place... My comment was one of sheer laughability, based on the fact Hayden said this years bike was the best so far, and yetwithout Casey, seems to be not such a good bike. Yet I am sure if Casey were riding it...

I honestly have to say that i'm not going to miss him at all in moto gp. Apart from being really fast as a rider, i don't feel as though he does anything positive for the sport. Every time i see him on the tv he looks utterly naused off pretty much all the time. Maybe its just me but I find it very hard to be a fan of someone that gives off so much negativity every time they open there mouth. I feel like bending his ear and telling him that "life" could be a lot worse..... and most of all ... CHEER UP !!!!! If i had 0.1 % of the talent , money, and prosperity he has id be jumping for joy!

Stoners fans remind me of the teenie boppers who voted Bros the greatest pop band of all time on a radio one poll several years ago. They can't see beyond the last five years. Calling Stoner the GOAT is an insult to real greats like Agostini and Hailwood. The Stoner teenie boppers think that bike racing began in 2007. lol
