Stavros says:
"Theres not much doubt he'd have beaten Pedrosa for wins this year too without the injury"

I'm not bashing anyone, but I really honestly doubt that as far as this year is concerned.

Pedro DID go up a notch this year, and he showed that especially by beating Jorge in a 1:1 dogfight, something he was never very good at in the past.

Everyone going on about how he has been at Repsol for a long time well he can't do a lot about being injured and none of his team-mates has walked over him in fact he only lost to Hayden in his rookie year and Stoner last year whom he was level with in the championship until his accident. Last year was the first time they gave him a decent bike at the start of the year, that is a big problem. His form improved this season when he got the new bike. Honda need to give him it from the start.

@Ich , The facts are than Stoner had won 4 times and Dani just 1 win before Stoner got uinjured at qualifying for Indy. I have no doubt that Stoner would have won at Indy, Aragon etc without the injury, just as he dominated them in the past.
We would all then be saying it was another average year from Predrosa with his 2-3 wins per year.
Predrossa didn't step ip this year. Circumstances transpired that made him look better than he really was.

Pedrosa finished 78 points ahead of Stoner this year, so how many points would CS have made back on DP had he not missed those 3 races.

Bear in mind DP's speed and consistency all year. I will give you Stoner winning 3 and Dani finishing 3rd in those 3. That's a gain for Stoner of 27 out of 78 points.

To all those who say Dani is not good enough to win a WC, the proof that he is good enough has been there for all to see in 2012. Any other conclusion is fanboy bias at best hatred at worst.

LOL @ fastfisheye!

you forgot to add the points Stoner gains by winning those 3 races!
Dani loses 27 points for finishing 3Rd instead of first (3 x 9 points) but Stoner then also GAINS 75 points that he didn't have from those races. Total difference is 102 points, not 27!

Think about it guys, Dani is a good rider but no way is he a GREAT rider.

Rossi is
Stoner is
Lorenzo is

2012 in review
Start of the year its Lorenzo and Stoner taking most of the wins
Dani wont risk getting hurt at the start of the season
Stoner gets hurt mid yr.
Lorenzo gets smart and plays safe for the second part of the season, happy with second AKA Hayden
Dani wins with the leader riding at 90% and the other not even there or hurt.

This is what happen, if it wasnt then at the Island Dani should have owned both Stoner (hurt) and Lorenzo but no he didnt.

Sunday was crash day and tire day, good decision at the start for him, Stoner played smart for his last race and still got on the step, but Dani is still not GREAT

He wont win next year, Lorenzo will take his 3rd WC, because Rossi and Mark will be in the mix and Dani wont take a risk at the start of the season.

@ Kim Baby
Wow deluded, Lets look at some facts.
Dani BEAT stoner Fair and square this year at Sachsenring and stoner Fell off trying to keep up ( no injury at all and Jorge was no-where).
Dani has not finished behind Jorge since Laguna, After falling off chasing him Stoner Managed 8th at Mugello.
In Qatar (Casey Track) dani beat him there and again at Catlunya.

And all you fans are telling me that Jorge was (playing it safe from the 9th round??? come on). Dani started from Pit lane (with an even more impressive display that Marquez) and still caught Jorge (who was free from any limits his words) hand over fist and then fell off! He knew Dani had him and where was Stoner back from his sabitical! IF Stoner and Jorge were both impressed (stoner even calling it better than Marquez) by Dani I think they have a better idea of his talent level.

Next Year if the Honda is as good as it was from Indy then Dani Could finally get the Hat trick of WC in the classes he deserves, and he ends 2012
