Yeah but Roberts wasn't really that unpopular either, it was just that the Sheene fans made that much more of a song and dance about it.

So the comparison is actually very valid.

@ Realist

Who are you to decide who should ride and when they should do so?

If a team want a rider and that rider wants to ride, it's a done deal. You sound like the football fans I have to work with. They all seem to know how to run a premiership club and how to manage and train a team, yet here they are, doing a 'normal' job and huffing and puffing a lot of hot air.

Do you feel giving a Bradley Smith a Tech 3 ride is fair, considering the pool of greater talent in Moto 2?

Absolutely not, utter disgrace of equal proportions, indeed as is Marquez getting the factory Honda.

At very least Bradl has done more than enough to justify a chance on the factory bike and a satellite Honda would have been more than appropriate for Marquez' learning year.

Smith should be happy with another year in Moto 2 at best.

@realsit @realist, get real....
re the smith... well marquez and smith have bith progressed internally to the next class valid or not you would rather bring someone up through your own ranks.... as for smith being deserving.. why not he took the massivley poor tech3 moto2 to some respectable results and now england has a 2 man team in motogp....

"and now england has a 2 man team in motogp.... "

So......................?

Rossi on a factory Yamaha and two Englishmen, well that's plainly the whole series saved then isn't it.

Silly me, should have realised it was that simple.

WOW, reading these post its like 2010 all over again.

Remember when the Rossi fans talked up the Italian Dream Team.
How Rossi would show Stoner how to really ride the Ducati.

How he was the DOCTOR of motorbikes and would take Ducati to a new level

Yep, reading these post the Rossi Fan boyz are still full of it and the Rossi PR will need to move into overdrive to make up for his performance (or lack of)

Get ready to read prue hate on Lorenzo Dani and MM as they continue to show their stuff.

BYW, Rossi Fan boyz still claim rain and wet tracks are the true leveler which came true last Sunday.

Fonza Dani!!!!!!

@realist.... my point being it could have been two hungarians... two canadians anything but two spaniards.... or is it 4 spaniards in total?? thats what is ruining the sport. the only thing world about it is the countries they visit. the rest of the charade is the spanish championship ver 2.
Even the none spanish contenders are there via the spanish championship..
smith made his way through the british championship cal made his way from the R6 cup via WSS/WSBK.. my point in this, is that it not only brings dfferent styles to the series it also brings different sponsors in which means more money more teams more entertainment.... and your rossi argument is well not really an argument... without him i doubt very much it would be the sport it is today and thats alot for me to say seeing as im not particularly a fan.
