If Rossi's raced all his career against only fellow riders,on the other hand,Casey had fought against:
-Tyre suppliers/companies
-engines generation
-internal favouritism
-overtuned TC
-and most of all is U,all the yellow blinkers who have spewed creps towards him from 2007 onward.
sad,u never realise it.

@couch racer, i'm sure Bradley raced in spain prior to coming to GPs, likewise Casey Stoner. I think Brad deserves a crack at it, not saying that there are other that aren't equally deserving but there are only a limited number of rides. Brad has spent two years on a relatively poor bike and has tried his best without complaining. Obviously Herve' saw something in him to offer him a contract to keep him at tech3 . None of us get to see Brads data, we just go by the results.

"without him i doubt very much it would be the sport it is today"

I agree entirely, but think that's praise?

The "sport" is a mess. To go back to the Sheene analogy, when he quit there was a huge dip in popularity on one hand but it was also the catalyst for the greatest decade GP racing has ever known from early 80's to early 90's as it left room for so much other talent to flourish.

When anyone within a sport becomes too big it's never good, they suck the life out of the sport itself and all the others not directly benefitting from them and Rossi is no exception. What is happening today is only further delaying the recovery of GP racing.

Oh sorry, yes I agree totally agree about the Spanish issue but at the end of the day that's just a further manifestation of the ethos (?) that has put Rossi back on the factory Yamaha and Smith on the Tech 3 bike.

So I don't see how you could agree with one thing but disagree with another.

Just because it suits doesn't make it right.

@hecktic quote 'he wasent the only rider to be lapped. if it was a dry race and there was no bike switch and he got lapped then you have a decent point, but it wasent, rain and bike swap always plays a part in it. your hatred post is void.'

Correct, Rossi was not the only rider to be lapped. But he was still beat by Ellison on a CRT fair and square. They both started on wets, and both came in on the same lap to change bikes, and Ellison overtook Rossi and handed him his ar$e.

The fact is that its irrelavant if Rossi does or doesnt get back to the front.

His real potential has been exposed over the last 2 years, but im sure the Yamaha will make him look better than he actually is.

Hey guys don't act like it matters if you persuade "realist" and the rest of the bunch of haters about Rossi's worth as a racer. It doesn't. At the end of the day what an athlete leaves behind and supports his status in the history books is his achievements. Which are facts. Ridiculous denial you can find everywhere. Nazi nostalgics deny the Holocaust and conspiracy theorists deny the landings on the moon. Everything can find somebody to deny it.

Analogies kept, Rossi haters have a problem which they try to turn into everybody's problem. Don't accept that view and don't make them even matter to you. It's simply not worth it. Just feel nice that you lived and witnessed real-time one of the greatest ever motorcyclists and certainly the most colourful and charismatic persona to have ever thrown a leg over a motorcycle in the world series.

@futility... while i can somewhat agree with your points i can't help but laugh at your preach, its a comment section peple are going to comment... and people are going to reply to comments.
@realist... yeah see where your coming from, as for re-rossi saga well from a different angle the title of his first book was 'what if i never tried.' which i think regarding the 2 year extension, says it all... yamaha can maintain face with lorenzo and potentially get more sponsors in, off the back of the rossi train, to go forward.... when this new era of (ezpalata-restricted) prototypes takes place...

@ Petrolbonce.....There was nobody on the grid more conniving and devious than B Sheene, and he has still kept his legend' status. I use those words to describe the antics that Barry used to get up to to make sure that he had any advantage possible. He used cmmandeer Works parts that were supposed to go to his team mates, for example. A past master at mind games, and hated having a good team mate.
Great rider and a great bloke but always sought out an advantage, and quite right too.
Excuse the typos, my laptop wont let me edit.

@ couch racers etc.:

Yes of course but then again seeing the same things being said over and over again for years on end and by the same people I think justifies my "preaching". So laugh how you want, when you reach the same point of being fed-up as me you'll stop.
