Andrea Dovizioso: The Ducati is known for working well in the wet, and I can confirm that, but obviously, we have to try it in the dry.

Iannone put in a faster lap than Rossi at mugello? So did Barbera, but come the race Rossi almost put it on the podium . Fact is Rossi got 2 podiums and finished sixth in the championship, a Ducati rider next season needs to win a race, get 3 podiums, or finish fifth in the championship to say there has been an improvment.
Rossi's 1 lap pace on the Ducati is hardly a benchmark... still I predict alot of "Rider x beat Rossi's qual time from last year"

fred, if there is ever a year for it, it's this year. and those stats you gave were over the span of two years my friend, so lets at least be fair and give them two years to outmatch rossi.

@ fred @ johnson

Why make comparisons at all? The Duc won't be the same, the competition won't be the same, etc. - just too many variables. The only fair comparison would be to have them on the same bike, at the same time.

Heck, it's not even fair to compare Rossi's two years at Ducati because the bikes themselves were so damn different.
