Smith will be a Toseland. Hope his contract is just for a year because he'll be in CRT or WSBK in no time, sorry, but his seat would've been best given to someone the likes of Espargaro or the many other riders who have consistently finished ahead of him.

You obviously have no understanding of bike racing - its the the overall package of bike/rider that will win races. It's been common knowledge in the paddock that the tech 3 moto2 has been a crap package over the past 2 years.

He's going to have some flashes of brilliance early, then tank like none other further down the road. Actually spies' first year with tech3 is a good target for smith, a podium or 2, probably not a shock pole though he's not THAT talented.

@ fastfisheye - But you seem happy to compare the Mistral with kalex and Suters! The point I am making is that he is learning new tyres, and a bike with much more power than he is used to. Also I dont believe that the 600's had Wheelie control traction control and a whole host of other rider aids, where Barbera has had a season riding the Ducati on those tyres with all the other stuff that goes with it. besides, wasn't a CRT top of the time sheets for most of yesterday and Top five in the race. Dont do the lad an injustice.

There are doubters out there, but the stats still say he's been consistently the most successful British GP rider in decades. He may not be considered to be the Brit with the most natural talent but hell he works his **** off to make up for it. I wish him all the best for next season.

3 podiums in the last 2 years in Moto2, has only won 3 races in his now 7 year GP career, finished 9th overall this season and 7th the season before, with only once in his career being in the top 3 (in 125cc).

I don't care if he's the most successful Brit, as a rider his numbers aren't anything to brag about. I like the kid, and hope I'm wrong but I wouldn't put any money on him having any real success at the highest level.

Bradley was actually faster than Marquez & Iannone with 9m mins remaining of test, he was consistently lower his times, then he pitted & didnt go back out, marquez went back out for last few mins and lowered his times, which i am sure Brad would have continued to do so...@Whatajoke you have NO frigging clue

Had he put on fresh rubber at the end, his times would have pleased the armchair specialists much more than the way his team did things, but I guess they were not there to please clueless people.

Say what you want about Smith...but I have a feeling he's going to surprise a lot of people on this bike and will be regularly challenging Crutchlow in the latter half of the season. Smith has spent his entire career on prototypes and the M1 is a MUCH better machine than the Mistral Tech3. As time passes, I expect he's going to be pretty fast.
