Guys, sorry I am not as knowledgeable as others, so grateful for info on the following: (i)Will Vale and Jlo have equal billing, or Jlo is the designated Nr 1 rider? (ii)What were Jlo's views about Vale returning to Yam? Did he say anything? (iii) Did Vale say anything himself about Jlo? (iv) What is with the "no wall" thing? Does this mean info will flow between the two riders? Who insisted on that condition?(v) Is it true that Vale took a pay cut to return to Yam? What are the terms? (vi)Will both bikes run exactly the same colours? (vii) What about the Tech 3 team? Will it have the same bikes as the Factory Yam team, or only the 2012 spec bikes

What matters now is now and next season, not the past.

For someone to say that it is 'insulting' to VR to compare him with the other professional racers he is up against right now is pathetic hero-worship of the highest order.

A racer is only as good as his recent and current performances DIRECTLY against recent and current competition. If I was being mean I could say that means it would be fair to compare VR with Espagaro, let alone JL. However, being sensible it means that Rossi HIMSELF is comparing himself directly with other racers in the same race class. He has a front-running bike, so he knows it is NOW that counts, not any previous WC year (good or bad). End of.

@TalentFan

"A racer is only as good as his recent and current performances DIRECTLY against recent and current competition."

So basically Stoner is a quitter because he did quit and all his past performances accounts for nothing? What utter rubbish are you spewing!

Rossi has got (again) what he wanted in a factory Yamaha seat. He got to keep his crew. He has EVERY opportunity. The price? Rossi knows (as do all of us that aren't mental fan-boys) that getting this bike means that every result and every Sunday is now down to ROSSI. No Ducati / Preziosi or anything else his 'fans' can cook up as 'reasons'.
If VR can beat JL, DP & MM on comparable front-running bikes then he can rightfully claim the plaudits for that. But if he cannot beat them (and the dukes & satellites) consistently then he knows he has to hold his hand up and acknowldege that this is down to him also. The bull stops when the flag drops for sure in 2013, which both fans and non-fans of VR should welcome.

So, you're saying that its WRONG to compare one racer in the same race with another? Or over a season?

Perhaps it is more accurate to compare Rossi with Bradley Wiggins maybe?

You don't have trouble multi-tasking (like say walking & breathing at the same time) by some chance, do you?

For me embarrassing is when a rider who's won 7 premier class titles couldn't win a single race in 2 straight seasons.. If he were so good, why couldn't have he even won a single race in 2 years? Was it 100% the bike's flaws? That goes to show that he could only win riding best-handling bike. And after the 2 embarrassing years, he crawled back to the bike that he thinks might bring him the auld lang syne back.. he would've respected a lot had he retired in 2009!!

Aw, sorry precious. Didn't realise you were so sensitive. Still, despite your obvious handicaps you are at least amusing.
As for the 'hater' bit... well, you chose to use Stoner to beat on when slagging my post, not me. And if you actually READ my post, you'll note that I say Rossi deserves the plaudits (that's a good thing btw - it'll save you looking it up)if he beats JL, DP & MM etc. I balanced that (balance also being a new thing for you) by saying he has nowhere to hide if he loses. That's logic (another new concept?).

@WSBK Fan

"If he were so good, why couldn't have he even won a single race in 2 years?"

But he is not good. He is a Fraud remember? A Fraud that has been exposed. So we should expect nothing from him. On the other hand, Stoner is the fastest the world has ever seen. Better than all the greats. How come only 2 championship in 13 years? Being the fastest, he should have won 13 championships. BUT HE DID NOT! And dont tell us it's the bike, because if it is, then his couple of success is also because of the bike.

And i didn't even bring up Stoner..
It's all about how people have different ways of looking at things.. To some, # of titles is everything. To me, it's not..
