I like reading Vilas' posts, always entertaining. For sure the vibe is just right in that photo. Can everyone just move on from the "Ducati (non-success) years, Rossi vs. Stoner and blah-blah-blah" ? So boring and played out. I'm happy to see the man back where he belongs.

I really hope rossi can get a few good results. Would be good to see him fighting for podium spots and the odd win. He is great for the sport.
To be honest, I think that Pedro hwas a very good chance at the title, and i hope he wins it . He really does deserve it, He is the only top guy out there with out the crown. Bit like Randy Mamola.

Good luck Rossi, I think we are going to be in for another great season as was this year.

Does Yamaha have its own test track?? Surley they will get rossi on that bike before the official tests???? Its a long time to wait until Feb to have a ride.

At the end of the day, you still have to punt the bike around faster than anyone else, but it was clear to anyone at the start of the season, just how much influence the tyre supplier can have on just who wins races and who doesn't. Back in the good old days when Honda and Michelin had things tied up, they decided who had a "winning bike" and who didn't.

The bikes on the track, aren't equal and never will be. It's the politics behind the scenes which decides who gets a shot at the title and who's just there to make up numbers.

Poor Rossi. He was soundly beaten by Stoner in terms of race-wins, podiums, poles and fastest laps during the years they raced each other. He will forever be remembered as a loser in the battles with Stoner. He will also be remembered for stealing the title with the best bike, when his competitors had been down with injuries or illnesses.

The reality is mate, rossi finished ahead of stoner 4 years out of 7 n the overall standings. One of those with a broken leg. 2 of the three he finished behind stoner were on the POS ducati.

As for pinching titles on best bike while opponents were injured...couldnt describe 2011 title any better! You were talking about 2011 werent you?

If he comes around fourth in testing that'll be fine. He was rarely the fastest rider out there, but was always the most scrappy. As long as he is somewhere in touch with the leaders, there should be some fun!
The danger is that he has huge target on his back for Dovi, if Dovi gets ahead of him in testing or racing Rossi's confidence will blow away in the breeze.
