@MrQwerty.
i think parish's predictions were pretty good , only the weather on the day seemed to alter the outcome a lot .
besides he only had 3 riders to choose from that barring weather and problems never fail the podium.
the weather this year helped a lot of other riders get on the podium , whereas if they were all fair weather races the chances were almost 100% guaranteed to be three riders taking all podiums.

i agree, you can't blame one nation because it loves bike racing ,it is up to the other countries to develop their system of formation and racing to produce talents... Anyway Marquez is the next Rossi, good to see that this kind of extreme talent turns around on a regular basis, such a shame for us spectators that Stoner is not in the mix anymore...

I'm not at all convinced that MM can reproduce the Moto2 level in MotoGP. But I also think top 4 is a given.
MM has 1 of the only 4 bikes truly capable of winning under typical conditions.
The technology though means that the absolute limit under braking, cornering and acceleration is available every corner of every lap to these guys, who are all so good that they exploit the limits consistently.
This tends to mean limited overtaking - if the guy in front can be on the limit of grip all the time, then the chances to get by are very very few.
Basically the bikes are too good and too metronomically consistent for the rider to make the difference - its just that Jl, DP, VR & MM have kit that is a bit better than everyone else.

The only good news in my post above for me is that it should be hard for MM to gain much in the way of a technical /machinery ADVANTAGE over his main (only, given the rigged game that is MotoGP) 3 rivals.

So - unlike Moto2 where his massive budget, super-light weight and political clout let him get away with murder TBH, in this arena we should get to see more honestly how MM stacks up with the other 3 guys.

The best bit about 2013 is that we should all be able to see the genuine relative pace that both MM & VR have against Jl & DP.

Lets straight away stop the talk about hating MM. No-one on the grid deserves hate and most who are there deserve to be there. Remember, he's only 19 years old and fearless! After nearly losing his sight he came back flat out and fighting. So far in Moto2 we have seen that he's a racer, not a waiter. When he catches someone he doesn't fall into the trap of sitting behind them. He makes an opportunity and passes them. He is not phased by reputations.
Trouble is when he shows his exuberant style there will be critics who try to get under his skin to slow him down.
He is new blood, he is the future of MotoGP and in the coming years it will be him, Vinalez, Kent, Fenati and their pals who produce the excitement for us race fans.
