Stoners debut was 1.94 secs slower than the fastest race lap in 2005.
Marquez debut was 0.28 secs slower than the fastest race lap in 2012

Marquez is certainly the fastest rider to emerge since Stoner and has the potential (and the backing) to upset a few apple carts in the future. I still expect him to be scrabbling in the kitty litter for the first 3 races though :)
Podium by race 5, Win by race 7

Thanks for that Crash. A perspective I for one never considered. It just emphasises how good Stoner was/is/whatever. Marc is a worthy replacement and Nakamoto must be delighted.
Now. 'Crazy Joe' 4th on the list with the Ducati.
Fair enough,he has ridden it before, but it is noteworthy in terms of the compilation. Very noteworthy in fact.

@Jiri, 2 championships is nothing to be sneezed at. I wonder how many you have (not on xbox).

I also wonder why some people are so keen to see the fastest rider leave the sport!....Don't we all want to see the best of the best fighting it out?

I know that is what i prefer to watch but it seems some would rather just see their favourites / heroes win.

I would hazard a guess that the top lap set when Casey set his lap (on a satellite bike) was set by your hero Vale, hence when asked who he thought was his greatest threat he replied Stoner.
I always wondered if he really meant that statement or was he just playing mind games, but on reflection I now think meant it.

Lc, you're wise enough to realise that circulation racing is what the pinnicle of racing now is. living in the past thinking that position swapping is EVER going to happen sorts itself out by lap 3. Electronics(and the undeniable concentration needed) have made the laps that the capable at this level post be so consistant that you know what lap rider X is going to catch Y or have Z laps to hold off rider X etc.
