Here we go with Leguna 08 again. Casey's team wanted to put in a protest for two illegal and dangerous moves by Rossi. Stoner vetoed the protest. Post race he simply stated some of the moves were a bit dodgy and he was not comfortable with them. Rossi himself has admitted in many interviews that he was out of control at the Cork Screw and anybody who watches the replay can see he leaves the track. Another pass later in the race also resulted in him leaving the track. Rossi had to ride the bike at 110% to keep up with Stoner and there was not another rider capable of doing what he did that day. But Stoner's comments were fair and every other rider would have said similar. The Cork Screw incident could have ended up as one of the worst MotoGP crashes in years.

laguna 08 for rossi was cutting a corner and being lucky not to fall off.. he was good at keeping stoner at bay though in other places..maybe yamaha's handling helped him fend of any attacks from stoner

When will these Rossi fans realise that in recent times in the modern era of MotoGP Rossi has not acheived as much as Stoner? Rossi has now also been surpassed by Lorenzo in this same timeframe.

Yes we all know that Rossi has had a great career, IN THE PAST, AND BEFORE THE LIKES OF STONER AND LORENZO ARRIVED, but since Lorenzo and Stoner have arrived in MotoGP, they have done better than Rossi. This is not an opinion, its fact! Although im sure you guys will try and come up with some pointless nonsense to try and fictionally disprove this, only to fail miserably.

I respect Rossi for what is HAS done IN THE PAST, but please guys, just put this Rossi V's Stoner thing to bed because we have already had the answer to that over 2 years ago now.

Are Rossi fans blind to talent other than yellow?

Stop living in the past, move on, and accept it.

Im sure all the mud slinging will soon start being aimed at Lorenzo again, like it was a couple of years ago, and maybe even Marquez may get

ok lemans 2012- a WET race favorable for rossi on the ducati, how many times has casey on a ducati outpaced rossi on a yamaha? and was rossis best year on the ducati even close to stoners worst year on it? he averaged 1.5 podiums per year 0 wins. far from impressive for the supposed "goat".

The bikes they were riding were completely different. In 2012 the displacement was different and the bike had gone through dozens of iterations to try to suit Rossi's needs, starting from midway through the previous season.

Of course this wouldn't have been necessary if Rossi had been willing to try to ride like Stoner who he claimed wasn't riding hard enough...

or

If Rossi just rode as hard as he could on the bike Ducati gave him as Stoner did...

His first race on the Ducati! In fact, I am not sure it was in best race, probably not, but it was quite a feat, getting his hands on that toughest of bikes and delivering a victory!

That makes me remember to give kudos also to Max Biaggi - sorry for the off-topic here - with a similar start both in 500 and SBK.
