MotoGP » 'Honda is fair with its rivals, unlike Ferrari'

“At F1, Ferrari has absolute authority. To be honest, we suffered a lot in that period. In MotoGP, Honda is in a similarly strong position but we like to be fair with our rivals” - Shuhei Nakamoto.

Blaming Honda is a joke. They cannot force regulations.

The change to 800cc machines had to be approved by all manufacturers, not just one or two.

Spec tires have killed the racing more than the capacity change. But hey, if you're content on blaming Honda then seeking out the truth more power to you.

I love when a paddock insider that actually knows something (like Nakamoto) shares insight that is so affirming about Rossi, basically solidifying everything he's accomplished.
RIP Dajiro Kato.

I find a grain of truth in Nakamoto's interview, and I do believe that Honda are more honorable competitors than most major manufacturers. However, Nakamoto cannot excuse Honda's mismanagement of the sport by comparing Honda favorably to another evil empire. Honda have made the sport uninteresting, and the MSMA have failed to create a formula that is both technologically exciting and sporting (therefore entertaining).

Sadly, Nakamoto has twice refused to publicly acknowledge that the MSMA have failed. Imagine if Honda refused to admit failure when they were beaten in competition. They would lose forever. Refusing to acknowledge failure regarding the technical regulations is no less destructive.

so if Honda makes the rules, why did the rules end up breaking Honda's back in 2012? More weight, different tires which caused lots of chatter front and rear? Honda would have owned in 2012 had all these rules not changed to favor Yamaha. it is in fact Yamaha that (still) has quite a lot of political clout with in the establishment, they are the Ferrari of MotoGP, their product is slower than Hondas, just like Red Bull.

All you have to do is look at Dani's winning streak in the second half of the season to realize what would have happened had Honda not been 'gimped' at the beginning of the season, Poor Jorge would have finished in 3rd and Casey would have finished his career with another championship. But thats not how it was supposed to B.

"In 2010 Rossi made an outburst: "only Honda had ever denied me ..." Can I believe what the man was saying? No, it looks like they are aware of how fanatical the yellow brigade can be, and they are trying to play the Rossi card to their own advantage."

...seriously? your suggesting rossi is even bigger than Honda? That should shut all the haters up once and for all. Rossi..the GOAT, the KING and the legend of motogp. Haters, you heard it, rossi is even bigger than honda.

agree that honda would have won the WC but it would have been pedro not stoner. pedro finished ahead of stoner fair and square on same machines. You can clam pedro had the 13 version but it was offered to stoner as well and he chose to stick with the 12 version (couldnt adapt as well as some believe).

You stoner fans cant even get the ifs & buts right anymore.

Honda Give de excuse of the tyre, saying that creat new problems but that for me is only bullsht!! They still end up winning manufacter Champion, and Yamaha did a great Job on the 1 part of the sesson.. Then after that Honda started to showup with new stuff even bringing the model that was plan to used im 2013 to the 2 part of the sesson that has we know Pedrosa use Both chassi and engine and Stoner only use the engine.. The realaty was that Yamaha surprised Honda at the 1 part of the sesson thats all!! After what we wach from the 2011 bike that had a lot more Power then the yamaha, Honda was expecting to have a smooth star without many problems.. Also the Honda advantage on the 2 part was only Engine because the chassi 4sure was not a big update or Stoner that test the chassi would say that was better he didnt notice any diferente also Pedrosa for some races bring the 2 chassis to allways confirme if was better or worst..lolo This only tell you that they didnt feel to much diference..

@ Dave.
so by saying pedro finished ahead of stoner fair and square you mean stoners 1 dnf and 3 dns then finishing the rest of the season with a broken ankle (not to mention riding indie without it treated ) makes the outcome fair and square!!
the chances stoner would have left everyone behind by mid season had honda not been hampered with the rules swings is very high on most logical peoples minds.
your a funny guy dave .

This only tell you that they didnt feel to much diference.. From what we wach from onbords you guys for the sound of the engine can understand that Honda has a more agressive balance the engine spin more faster and angry then the yamaha and that puch Honda riders to victoris like we wach from valencia 2011.. Yamaha is also Powerfull but is much more soft on the exit and cach up Honda to make more less similar top speeds, but this also depend a lot from the setup on gears that rider prefer to use for each track but in the end you guys can t denied Honda have a very strong engine like allways 4sure the most Powerfull to put this phisikcs worcking better then the others like Grip , Torque and top Speed needed
