When Cal's Tech 3 seat expires at end 2013, the only factory seat expiring will be Nicky Hayden's. And if the Duc still isn't fixed, then who'd want that seat? IF Cal has a good 2013, and IF VR46 retires, then there's a possibilty of a factory Yam seat, but at Cal's age he will probably be overlooked in favour of a younger rider.
It's a shame, Cal is a great ballsy rider but having peaked late his prospects look limited.

Nice full grid again then :) Cal's options sure are interesting, Ducati pissed him right off and in return he may have burnt his bridges. I think he should stay Tech3 till 2014 and do his best to beat Rossi, if he kicks his ass then he'll get a seat. It'll be a toughy though.

Any one know the future of CRT? They don't belong with prototypes. It's stupid, dangerous and embarrassing for a guy like RDP (for example). Give the CRT's real engines please!

I pity all the riders who has a contract that finishes in 2013 and any up and coming riders in moto2, Suzuki maybe back in 2014 and a few more CRT bikes could be on the grid, other than that guess guys like Hayden maybe off to Superbikes.

I really don't know why we even have prototypes, afterall look at all the new sportbikes in the shops, most of them are just the same old bikes from 4 years ago with a new paint scheme and a few added electronics, may as well have Moto gp with all CRT bikes and have 40 bikes on the grid just like the old days.

With Honda selling production racers, Yamaha leasing prototype engines, and maybe more more factories following suit - Ducati engines, anyone? - I think CRT, which will be just called private teams, are looking good for 2014+.

ducati has the strongest lineup its ever had in motogp. Hopefully among the 4 of them and audi stepping in, they can get that bike back on the top of the podium!!
