@slide,

I wouldnt expect you to understand the back to back thing...especially since its another feat your fav ex-rider couldnt achieve.

I also dont expect you to understand the fact you are a hater rather than a stoner fan...stoner has left the building and yet your still here trashing rossi.

Instead of slating my opinion, why not try to explain the significance of the back to back titles?
In fact, I'm beginning to think there's more to winning titles several years apart as it tends to indicate that there's more to do with the rider and not the bike as was clear when your favorite midpacker went to Ducati... or have those two horrendous years conveniently slipped your memory?

How can people say Stoner is the rider of the year lol?

Stupid fanboys it is a ridicoulus statement! Winning in Australia was great for sure but Stoner basicly craked under pressure this year. As usual just saying.

He crashed at Sachsenring. He ran wide at Mugello dropping back to 10th place. After all of this he ended his season with another crash at Indianapolis.

And people even praise this kinda win or bin style:
"Win or bust Stoner is the man to beat every weekend he's at the track! Best style, best attitude and no nonsense approach to racing."

Hahaha joke of the year. Keep crashing and cracking while other sensible riders winning the championships. Way to go Casey.

JLO's approach is much better imho. After all winning the title is what matters the most!

@ slide rules
As said in my previous post I am a Rossi fan, but can admit it was a poor season this year (I only scored him 4/10) and that the Ducati experiment has been a disaster. Shame some of the Stoner fans can't be that balanced. Stoner did better than JLo and Pedro this year?! He was the man to beat EVERY weekend?! He was a great rider, but seriously?!

As for your comment about championships years apart meaning more than back-to-back, usually I try not to rise to the Rossi vs Stoner tedium, but here goes...Rossi won BOTH back-to-back championships AND had 12 years between his first championship (125cc) and last MotoGP championship, or 8 years between first and last top flight championships. Stoner's two and only championship wins were four years apart. Sorry slide rules that argument does not hold.

By the way I am not a hater, please see my previous post about Casey's legend. I just can't stand overinflated claims.

I find it quite strange, yet amusing that my post was labelled as a 'poster attack' when i stated that 'its not me who is on a different planet', and that comment gets edited yet the original comment from another poster stayed. Why is that? Was it because is stated that Rossi was one of the biggest underacheivers of 2012? LOL!

Anyway Studs, ill respond to you again, and hopefully it says this time lol!

With all things considered, along with Spies, Rossi HAS been one of the biggest dissapointments and under-acheivers this season. It's not really up for debate is it? Or do you not agree? Do you think that Rossi has NOT been a dissapointment this year?

Maybe it is me and 99% of the racing worlds that is living on another planet, and not the 1% of people like yourself my friend. Maybe 99% are wrong, and your right huh?

Planet Yellow must be an amazing place to live.

@ Bob, sorry but if you dont know how to try and compare two riders fairly, then theres really no point in commenting.

@ Dave, yes i agree. Lorenzo has been outstanding since he's been the Premier Class. but he has had a slight advantage over the likes of Stoner, being on the Factory Yamaha from the start, whilst Stoner was on an LCR Honda for 1 season, and the Ducati for 4 seasons. Add to that that Stoner has more wins and titles on 2 bikes, and thats why stoner is marginally ahead of Lorenzo.

And whats all this about Rossi having back to back titles in 08 and 09, as though it somehow makes him worthy as being laballed the best rider out of the 3...???

Just ask Rossi if he's swap his 08 and 09 titles for 08 and 10 for example, in exchange for having more wins, or being able to get a title on the Ducati instead, and you'll get your answer Dave.

Rossi would swap his back to back titles in exchange for Stoners acheivements in that time, and thats a fact.

Ask yourself if you would h

Ask yourself if you would have rather Rossi have won a title in 2011 or 2012 on the Ducati in exchange for either his 08 or 09 titles.

Planet Yellow huh? It's must be an amazing place. LOL!

The two Tech 3 riders Dovi, for his podiums and Cal for his speed and but for luck could easily had 2/3 more podiums !If nothing else they took the fight to the works bikes while on lesser machinery , how would they have done on equal machinery ?

Couldn't have said it better Hemmy.

Stoner vs Lorenzo while they have raced eachother: 2 titles each, Stoner with more wins and on two completely different bikes, with one of the bikes being uncompetitive in any hands but his, as ably proved by Rossi, especially for the 5 races he was on Stoners old bike.

Stoner vs Rossi whilst racing eachother: 2 titles each but again Stoner with more wins and points, despite riding in less races. And Rossi's time on the Ducati has cemented Stoner's legacy. Anybody watching Stoners first and last races on the Duc vs Rossi's first and last races on the Duc (on the same bike as Casey for 5 races), cannot be in any doubt as to who the better rider is even if they don't beleive the stats.

Stoner vs Pedrosa : No contest.
