I'm sorry dave you seem to the one with emotions getting in the way.
Back to back on the same bike
Stoners were on two different bikes
I'd say that at least puts em on even ground
So you string two titles together not so hard when Yamaha gave them a terrific bike hell Jorge Won in 2010 so that was three in a row for Yamaha.
Go Jorge the GOAT :)

of course Rossi could win back-to-back title since M1 is hell smooth.Jorge could have done so as well had Stoner still ridden Ducati in 2011.
Geee...Rossi also could manage back-to-back winless year on Ducati.that's a spot on!

You pretty much nailed it Bob.
Only exception is Dovi. Right
after he signed with Ducati he
completly disappeared in the last
races. I wonder why.

the answer is the same as what happened to CS last season!

@wosi, for one thing rossi WAS on the 2010 bike for the first 6 races of 2011 until the gp11.1 at assen - his best result being a 3rd place. granted he didn't have 4 years experience on the bike. also capirossi was the last person other than stoner to win with the ducati which happened way back in 2007. for 08 09 and 10, only stoner won and really no one else was even a podium threat. hayden came in 09 when they switched to carbon fibre which looking back was not the best idea. If no one else including hayden, kalio, espargaro, melandri, anoyone who rode for ducati from 08-10 (several former race winners in the list) could even come close to winning or podiums for that matter, i seriously doubt that lorenzo, pedrosa, or even rossi could do it. would you not agree?

@Wosi.
Casey's case is still variable as he never trys Rossi's whatever bike version.could be blitzing, though we never know.

saying Rossi could have also won the title on Ducati 07 is a big joke.Ducati had waved their money on him only to make him jumpship to Ducati long before Casey joined.Rossi was too scared but smart.
And Valencia'2010 was the testimony of his fear.on Casey's very bike,he wetted his pant.LOL.

"You reckon Stoner would have won on a Ducati 2011/12..I say Rossi would probably have won on the bike 2009/10 and almost certainly 2007/8.

Like you say though..we'll never know for sure, either way.
Posted by wosi.."

No - Rossi had a ride on the 2010 Ducati at the end of 2010 - he was as bad on that bike then (which had just won races) as he was in 2011 and 2012. Rossi was never going to win on the ducati unless the five guys in front all crashed.

"You are right Rossi did not win a championship on a Ducati and may have swapped an earlier title for this, BUT neither did Stoner win back-to-back championships on arguably the best bike on the grid (Repsol Honda), which Rossi did manage (Yamaha)"

@DrGP - Honda the best bike on the grid? it hadnt won a championship prior to Stoners win for how long? and if Stoner hadnt won who would have?

Thats like saying the Ducati was the best bike on the grid

Megalol, the answer lies there on the situation in which Casey was last season.
