SAM, I hope your not a Colin Edwards fan?
How about 30 million for two podiums in two years with an unlimited budget on a bike with a previously rich history of winning, how does that deserve a berth on the championship winning machine let alone a CRT bike?
Popularity is one thing but the sport can't keep propping up riders who overestimate themselves and make poor decisions and tunnel visioned management who can only see the short term gains of hiring someone who is good at selling t-shirts.

not only edwards, if thats your logic sam, barbera, espargaro, and bautista should all be on their way out in the next few years or so.. i mean barbera has been wasting a spot on a ducati since day 1 when he arrived, a best result of 6th after 3 years? seriously? at least he is on a crt now. abraham never belonged here in the first place. at least vermeulen has a win.

One thing I read a lot of when such discussions come up is numerous posts with a "give a young rider a go instead" flavour. What are you all, pedophiles?!? Who gives a flying $@&% how old a rider is, earn your spot on the grid. Vermulan should retire? He's 30?!? From memory the last 3 wsbk world champions have all been in their 40's!!!!
Baylis, think Carlos has a walking stick, and Biagi, I'm over 34 but i wasn't in school the first time he won a world championship!
If CV Is fast enough and earned a ride on the grid then go for broke sunshine, he should've retired already? Please, if someone was stupid enough to actually pay me to ride a race bike I'd do it till I died or they dragged me off the frigging thing!

What Pirro said.
“After testing with Ducati at Mugello they offered me the job as test rider and it seemed like the best choice, rather than continuing in CRT".

Now if this was the opportunity Chris was given, I would be excited about his comeback.
And don't forget Pirro has achieved the best result on a CRT, not been out of the game for years, and then you read his comment above.
Go figure?

@ Motojunky "I (and many others) would not have made the comment about Chris if the full factory bikes were not in there competing with the CRT"s. But they are. Der."

There's a lot of posters stating that CRT's are rubbish simply because they are NOT factory 'prototype' bikes. End of (not qualified in any other way). Which means they also don't consider a grid made up of CRT's (without the factory bikes) exclusively to mean that then MotoGP would be worth watching.

I made the point that close high-quality racing COULD be had with a field made up of CRT bikes (with top drawer riders of course) in MotoGP. Der!
