MotoGP » Suzuki a 'maybe' for MotoGP 2014

“[Suzuki] are asking us to have some testing during the 2013 season and if everything goes well maybe we will see them in 2014” – Carmelo Ezpeleta

MotoGP is too predictable with only 2 teams winning the races and if Rossi can't win a lot next year we'll be hearing the Spanish anthem over and over and over again. In fact only 2 podium spots out of the 54 last year in the premier class were not taken by factory Hondas or Yamahas and even then it took them to have trouble for Rossi to pick up the pieces.

Back in the 1990's F1 was all about computers and not so much about the driver. Damon Hill could match Alain Prost. Then they took away the fancy gizmos and it became all about drivers once again. MotoGP needs to do the same thing, get rid of traction control, seamless gearboxes and that GPS setup changing whatever that is. Put riders back in command.

The calendar needs a rejig as well, only one 2013 race is in the southern hemisphere (Phillip Island). There are 4 Spanish races, 3 US races. Cut them down to 2 Spanish and 2 US and bring back Argentina and South Africa. MotoGP hasn't spread its wings like F1 has and keeps racing on

What Rossi proved is that you need a good bike and a good rider to succeed. If your bike is a bit of a dog, you are lucky if you have a rider that can deal with it against all odds.

Honda has won **** all with a good bike until they signed Stoner.
Yamaha simply has a good bike and a good rider.

Suzuki will build a decent bike (not good) and sign an average rider which results in average results.

Also remember that the CRT Aprilia is 99.9% factory, and that Carmelo has been talking a little more closely with BMW and Aprilia about entering the championship, should everyone agree only control ECU and electronics to lower costs, by 2016, MotoGP could be like 2003/2004 again, all manufacturers (pretty much) in and 2 team privateers running previous works bikes, like 24 proper GP bikes on the grid and good racing.

@ Dave, "Stoner all at sea" what series did you watch this year, 5 victory's, 10 podiums in total, 5 poles, missed 3 races due to huge crash and still came 3rd in the title, sure it wasn't as good a year as 2011, but all things considered not a bad one either, if you are going to bag a rider at least be subjective!

Suzuki and Kawasaki always work hard,
but if Dorna is changing rules soo much quick,
they put them in trouble, should be more stable
with change rules after hardwork by them,
about 800cc era for example...
love to see they are on edge, after all

@ Cockroach. Sorry, but you have no chance telling Dave to be 'subjective' - when from the manner of his posts indicates that he'd have to look the word up first (or get mummy to look up the big word for him).

Ok, the Rossi jibe was a cheap shot, but the childish reaction to then launch an inaccurate and spiteful outburst at Stoner just tells us all we need to know about 'Dave'. Someone was mean about his hero, so rather than an intelligent counter, we get the usual mean-spirited and childish lashout.

Dave - how do you expect ANYONE to give any weight or thought to posts when you come out with nasty little pokes like that? Sorry if this offends, but I hope you are just a child, cos if you are an adult then you've got issues.

@ex-loko.tkc.exe

Well it all depends on how they change the rules. They want make the racing more of a spectacle so I'd say that the rule changes in the future will only benefit new comers.
