Bemused as to how a guy who has pretty much matched Rossi all the way on the Ducati (and many times beaten him) rates only a tenth - unless that is that the Rossi performance is rated even lower.

God help us all if R gets voted in anywhere in the top ten at that rate - it'll mean that GP is no longer about the racing but is instead a PR led beauty contest....

@Vince

u're fckin twisted in brain,dude !.what the fck do you think Capirossi had been doing then unable to generate the same gowd damned 20 km speed advantage as Casey'd been demonstrating those shocking days?find yourself the answer and come back on with but your reasonable and sense-making one.
Casey was and would never be beaten by a teammate fair and square unless a plan is under the table.He was beaten so but by Motogp in the past season!

17 agree. Report
A bikes ability isnt based entirely
on top speed.

there,you Vince,verify that Stoner's 2007 title marking Ducati's maiden great achievement in Motogp was MUCH down to Stoner alone by your theory which I indeed agree with given other Ducati riders failed in general thorough 2007 season save for the odd wet japan round.

Rosberg/Schumi is a totally different situation. Schumacher retired and came back and is 43 years old, well past his prime. Rossi is only 33 and has never taken an extended break from the sport. 33 is still well within peak performance years for a motorcycle racer historically, 43 is not.

Dean,we are not talking about a 2 year period here but a 7 year period.
And dont forget,Stoner was on a satellite bike for his first year,then 4 years on the Ducati that Rossi has had so much trouble with.Yet he still won more races in that 7 years than Rossi did.That is not opinion,it is fact.
I am not taking anything away from Rossi.He is a great champion.but the fact is that during the time they faced each other on the grid,Stoner beat him more times than he beat Stoner.

Nicky is a World Champion, something that can never be taken away. Now that Stoner has left the paddock, There are only three MotoGp WC on the grid....There are riders on the grid that have never won a race much less a WC. Albeit, I agree even as a Ducati rider myself. The bike has been on a downhill slide sine 09.... I belive he is biding his time with Ducati and when he steps down as a racer, he will stay with big red on the PR side of things or as a test rider.

Aaaargh, it's deja vu all over again! Our we going to have to put up with this forever? Can't we introduce a special variant of Godwin's law for motorcycle forums? Anyone who invokes the Rossi vs Stoner argument on a thread which has nothing to do with either of them invalidates their own argument and in an ideal world their comments would be deleted. Following a second offence, culprits would be blocked from the site altogether.
