I'm starting to get a bad feeling that Cal has missed out and Rossi will be 4th.

I would have put Dovi 4th as he finished 4th on a satellite bike which should be acknowledged although we can discount Spies as a factory rider. The top 3 have to be Jorge, Dani and Casey and probably in that order.

If they rate Rossi 4th it will be a purely political decision to keep vested interests and Rossi fans happy.

if a man has nothing in him then how would he get so much support despite not performing so well with DUCATI underneath, So it prooves that indeed he has got everything for that he is getting so much. Long live VR-46. next year he is gonna show the whole world who is the best in the bloody business & shut stoner's moaners mouth up.

I think you've missed the point. This is a reader voted list - there is no 'they' putting people on it. I suspect Rossi may miss out after 2 pretty disastrous seasons. Either that or Casey's UK unpopularity will count against him.

@Objective Rossi is NOT 4th!

As stated during the 10th rider of the year which was Hayden Crash said two Factory riders didn't make the top 10... well to me that suggests both Rossi & Spies didn't make the top 10.

I'm a Rossi fan but I'd wish people would stop saying he's in the top 10 even is fans can see he didn't do well this season!

This pole to me is really about 'did the rider meet or exceed expectations', which is why although Rossi out pointed some riders in this pole he doesn't deserve a spot in the top 10 because he most definately failed to live up to expectations - his own, his fans, his crew, his bosses etc . All would have thought that by his second year on the Duc he would have at least taken some big steps forward.

Dovizioso on the other hand arguably deserves to be top 3 based on his 6 podiums as a satellite rider. 5th is definately too low. Would have been interesting to see how he'd have performed on the factory Yam.

Good to see the lights coming on in some old dark backrooms of peoples brains!
Riders finally getting recognition for their efforts where it counts... who'd have thought?
If only someone could turn the same lights on for DORNA!

In terms of outright achievement (ie podiums scored on a satellite , points scored for a satellite team) Dovi deserves higher. But this is a popularity contest too, and AD has never really excited much passionate support even in Italy. It's also a measure of how a rider performed against expectation, and as a top 3/4 runner in the WC, Dovi was expected to do pretty much what he has done. Hence a degree of apathy perhaps. His standing here is only consistent with the low number of comments posted about him throughout the year.
