It's always strange to read that a rider has a contract with a team when the rider has to pay for his ride, it looks more like that the team has a contract with a rider. And what when the **** hits the fan? Pesek is out of MotoGP although all the things that Dorna have tried to make MotoGP cheaper they have made things worse.
MotoGP is stuck on a level with bad rules, decisions and technical regulations.

Why have we come to think paying for a ride is acceptable? It is no longer a serious sport but a playground for egos. I don't care if it is a riders "sponsors", this is still buying the seat and we end up watching the best business men and a$$ kissers instead of the real men who can actually get the job done.

Sad.

Have people forgotten in the old days most people had to buy their to get bikes into this class and all others?
Having to pay to ride is normal it does not mean the rider pays personally, although he can, it means he will need personal sponsors to pay for it, so the rider becomes like the old days a salesman as well.
One thing for sure, it will be easier for Lucas to get sponsorship being signed to a motogp ride than having nothing or in another class.
As I said in the other thread paying half as much as he would to be in WSS, where a bike should cost about 20k not 400.

I couldn't care less whether a rider pays or gets paid. The important thing is if that rider is good enough for the seat or not, trouble with crt is that it's sometimes hard to tell whether it's the bike or the rider who is crap.

I will not be watching any Moto GP this year. With the CRT bikes and Riders having to pay to ride?? WTF is that all about? I'm losing interest in racing all together and I've been riding for 25 years!!

So what would happen if the rider said I don't have it, they go find someone else? So race teams are now more worried about just being in the series than having a good rider to ride their bike? The team should get the best rider it can afford, not the one with the biggest pockets. It's so ass backwards in racing anymore.
