Well if we're awarding points for entertainment value then Cal sure deserves a few, as he was often the one to liven up the race behind the leaders. Whether it was scrapping with Dovi or Bautista or Rossi or Stoner, he was often the one who spent races going wheel to wheel with another rider, and it was good to watch. God loves a trier as they say - and race fans generally appreciate one too.

Now he's built the speed, he just needs to stop crashing!

I think its reasonable to expect Smith will experience a learning year. Hopefully this will see Cal experience less pressure, resulting in slick performances. If the Tech3 is as good comparative to 2012 - I expect him to be close to the number 2 factory M1.

Good year- now bring home a win!

There must be a lot of Poms on here :)

I don't have a big issue with him being 4th. I personally would have had Dovi 4th but it matters little. He showed real speed and regularly mixed it with the guys racing for 3rd, 4th and 5th. He just needs to learn that finishing a race is the first priority.

Lets hope he has a petrol card with him next year or can call Yamaha Roadside Assist LOL

Cal is worthy of 4th just for being a (not a in ya face type) clown adding some fun back into the race

cal lifted his game more than a few notches this year and has given the brits a long overdue power surge in excitement.
he is the first good puncher to break the motogp scene consistently for a very long time.
its good to see fans acknowledge this.
4th is a worthy vote i think.
