@ RJ

"People also seem to conveniently forget the fact that Rossi rode the Ducati in 2011 with as fast or faster lap times than Casey did in 2010 on many, if not most tracks. 2012 is not comparable due to the change in displacement.

EX: Stoner was a top race lap of 1'35.577 while Rossi was a 1'34.273 at Le Mans or Stoner with 1'50.996 and Rossi with 1'49.301 at Mugello"

LOL!! You want to talk about 'conveniently forgetting' facts and you come out with this tripe.. the two tracks you cite Rossi being faster than Stoner on the Ducati both had exceptional circumstances. At Le Mans Stoner only completed 2 laps of the race! And Mugello was resurfaced for 2011 so everybody was over a second faster than the year before for everybody! Are they the best examples you can find to back your hypothesis that Rossi was faster than Stoner on the 800cc Duc?! Stoner SLAUGHTERED Rossi on race times and lap times on the 800 Ducati and was actually faster than Rossi was on the 1000cc Ducati at most trac

If only had Stoner had a spanish or italian nationality,a person like JB or close link to an Ezpelleta,it would surely have been just as boring as so they anti-Stoner pack have said.God,Telenovela has run into Motogp's blood to push talents aside!!!

On nearly every circuit Stoner qualified the 2010 Ducati 1/2 a second or more under what Rossi could do in 2011. He thrashed all previous Honda qualifying times in 2011. So lets not make up fairy stories abouthow well Rossi did on the Ducati.

Regardless of what position (insert random riders name here) gets in our opinion polls, try and be a little nicer to these riders. Without ped, lor and ston we'd be watching some pretty lame racing, I do want to see that fastest kids on earth smashing machinery out there, its why I watch motogp, Lorenzo said stoner was the most prodigious talent he ever saw, Pedrosa said he was grateful to stoner for showing him he needed to be braver on the bike, stoner said without his decade long history of racing the 2 most talented riders he'd ever met he wouldn't be anywhere near the rider he is today.
I have a very bad feeling that its going to be a long time before we see any where near the level of talent we've been privileged to witness having watched these 3 kids come through the motogp series together.
We bitch and moan about the lack of battles, that's what the Irish road racing and bsb series are for.
I just hope he comes back out of retirement some time soon.

Perception is not always reality, you can't really compare different riders from different years but more importantly motogp was only ever the European series really and more recently it has become more like the Spanish series.

Stoner won everything he competed in in Australia...... So you can't really say he has only ever won in 800's that's just silly especially since he seems far more focused on race wins than championship results
