Looking from the outside in, as a person I haven't got much time for him, but as a racer, simply the fastest and most naturally talented rider I've ever seen.

The thing that puzzled me this season was that Dani's performance improved once he got the new frame which Casey elected not to use. It did seem to reduce the chatter a bit - especially at the rear. I would have thought that Casey would jump on anything that helped reduce the chatter.

Casey is gone now and will be missed. He was a gutsy rider but he lacked the charisma that seems to be so important to everyone today.

I have noticed a constant in racing, that when one teammate starts sucking even more the other usually gets a lot better, proportionally. Having Casey sit out probably gave Dani the extra effort to help him get the bike settled. I dont think Dani really ever got a better package, but I do believe he was getting proportionally as much support as was Lorenzo getting on the YFR team. Ben sucked hard all year and Lorenzo was impeccable, when Casey left Dani turned in to a god, it happened with Dovi to some extent after Dani got injured.

So I predict, that if Rossi is able to actually get support, unlike Spies, he will take Lorenzo down a notch, and Marc will probably take Dani down a notch, especially if they want to get Marc up to speed. But if Honda get those tires working, The bike will go up a notch and Yamaha will be lucky to stay on par, especially if Rossi is having issues with riding a bike built and engineered for his teammate.

One other thing to note is that Marc Marquez has n

... never really had to contend with a teammate and hes always had awesome support, so it will be very interesting to see how many problems Dani starts running in to next year in order to keep the controlling interests happy with Marc's performance.

Casey will haunt Rossi and his followers for a very long, long time

...I wouldnt think so, casey is off fishing or driving v8's, rossi is back on a competitive bike and doing what he loves and the moaner fans will have to put up with their quotes from the past 3 years being regurgitated back to them.

As a rossi fan whos had to put up with rubbish statements knowing rossi couldnt do anything about it, I imagine it will be rossi haunting stoner and his fans for even longer still.
