Second is OK I believe. I think Dani would have won the Title if Casey's presence hadn't pushed him into a mistake. Dani fell off because he knew that he had to win the race and hope that Jorge finished 3rd or worse. His downfall was that he also knew that Casey wasn't going to roll over and let him.
Having said that I believe that if Stoner hadn't got himself injured then he would have retired with his 3rd Title.

BTW...I don't think Rossi had any say in it. (Sorry but a mention of Rossi is compulsory on any thread:))

Dani will probably win next year if Honda and Repsol let him. Jorge will be lucky to grab 3rd next year if Honda meet Bridgestone's challenge.

For all the people pretending the Yam was the best bike at the beginning of the year they are sniffing glue, they had a distinct tire advantage, much like Ferrari did, and both Ferrari and Yam were found out by the end of the year. Just like Lorenzo when he lost his nerve on many occasion.

Oh how the mighty have fallen, if Dani keeps his head on his shoulder and maintains his great attitude and Hond+Repsol dont insist on Marquez getting the majority of the support Dani will probably take 8-10 wins next year.

A bit quiet on here.. :)
but all in all, Jorge was quite consistent this year, and the consistency paid off..except for the part where he raised his hand on a wet race.. :)
if he hadn't done that, he would've been on top of the list methinx
Well i can hardly wait for next year and see some new young blood..
I'll miss Stoner though..

MotoGP has some stellar racers in it & DP & JL are stars for sure.
Lets not forget though that (due to the massive advantage of a Factory Honda or Yamaha, & the terrible year BS had) that 2012 was only ever a 3-horse race (2 horse once CS got hurt).
Once JL got his early advantage, the complete lack of any depth of competition pretty much saw to it that Jorge could consistently podium without pressure to close out the WC.
If 2013 is as much as a 4-horse race for the WC it'll still be a damn poor show. My guess is it'll be a 2-horse race tho. Great racers need & deserve great competition to thrive in - they (& we) aren't going to get it with MotoGP. Shame.

Totally agree with Jorge being number 2,and this is coming from a big time fan.The way Dani finish the season was just incredibly,it could have gone either way.The same thing is going to happen in Wsbk voting too,the finish second is going to win the vote.

"Back on topic I think Pedrosa had a brilliant season and its interesting when I have been in Spain that speaking to locals they prefer him to Lorenzo.

I was with some Spanish people (Catalunyans) over Christmas and JL was clear favourite over DP. I don't dispute your findings, but I think both riders have hordes of fans and followers.
Personally I prefer JLo. I think if Dani can't win the title in 2013 then he never will.

This says it all, poor lorenzo who fought so hard to win the title but his effort is never valued, he did the best possible with what he had, poor Dovi who fought so hard to put the Tech 3 in 4 place but teammate won the votes, poor Rossi that early blamed problems to be fast on the Ducati but still beat his teammate and gave the best possible place to Ducati this year, but the teammate that gave nothing was 0 points gained the votes to enter the Top 10..
