@ jerginz

Had you bothered to read my whole post I already stated that Rossi will not walk it like the days of old. Hell, I'm not even saying he's going to walk it at all.

You're the one pointing out consistency, I merely showed you that Rossi was just as consistent as Jorge (which you very nicely chose to ignore) on the Yamaha and even better than Pedro.

Age is not as big of a factor as you make it out to be. Yes he is getting older, it does not mean he is any less skilled.

The biggest difference between now and 2001 is that Rossi is now racing people that are just as skilled if not more skilled than he is (take your pick as to which one, I could care less of anyone's opinion on that point). It has nothing to do with him getting older.

Making predictions, as numpty so rightly pointed out, is worthless.

Guaranteed Lorenzo fears Rossi more than any other rider out there. He'd be foolish not to. If Rossi is on top machinery he is at the front and when he's at the front he does what needs to be done to win races, period. This is what history has taught us.

And if you were the journo you would surely have asked the question to Yorgi about the chances of Vali, some journos want a kick.

Don't flatter yourself Roman. When making broad, generalized, and fankly ignorant comments like the one you posted you are proving to me otherwise.

AAaaanyways, back to the actual thread then, MM has no reason to have pressure. IMO he actually has less pressure as George isnt a skilled mindgames person, Id suggest he said what he thought, in the same way that if the Journo asked will he crash a lot he would have said yes aswell lol. Personally, I think MM is a rider GP needs right now, the whole Wossi,Stoner blahblah bollox was much quieter when Simoncelli was around to stir it up (and boy do I miss that fella!)
Looks fun times ahead with any luck though!

I agree crt, one thing we can agree on is that as of their time together, lorenzo has more consistent than rossi has been.. but perhaps not, rossi was consisently middle of the pack with only 3 podiums with ducati so maybe not. but definitely as of 08 since joining motogp, it has been lorenzo all the way. lets make a friendly wager.. i say rossi will have 3 or less wins, would you take 4 or more? seems fair for a man they call the "goat" especially now that hes on arguably the best bike in motogp right? yes there is new competetion, are you saying his success was due to a lack of talented riders from 01-05? just curious

@ CRT

Stating that Rossi only finishes at the front on top machinery is FACT. Not sure why you would classify this as, broad, generalized, and fankly ignorant.

Rossi has always been on top machinery aside from the Ducati mess and guess where he finished... THE FRONT. You obviously haven't been paying attention if this fact escaped you for the past 15 years. Pay attention, bro.
