Just so we are clear on this.

You think Biaggi and Sete are the same caliber as Lorenzo, Stoner and Pedrosa?

Since you're a "Stat Dude", here's some stats for you.

Max Biagi
13 Wins 58 Podiums

Sete Gibernau
9 Wins 30 Podiums

Dani Pedrosa
22 Wins (The same as Max and Sete combine) 71 podiums

Casey Stoner
38 Wins 69 Podiums

Jorge Lorenzo
23 Wins 60 Podiums

@ CRT

Bro, have you ever watched a world championship race in your life?

You seem to be seriously misinformed. Try and pay attention this year. Most people here speak of facts but you seem clueless to the history of this sport.

Marquez is a young, excellent rider
sometimes taking a lot of risks
and for that he will have to look out!
He certainly will win races.
But I think the level of Marquez
is higher than Jorge sais:
to me he is more like Vale ...
And there will be great battles
between those two, you watch!

@ RiRi & CRT. When I wrote "MM is on an HRC Honda, so he has 3 real rivals. IMO, to live up to the hype he'll need to finish top 2 (as will one Valentino Rossi)."

What I'm saying is that actually there is a very small window for MM to prove anything (VR too it could be said). What do I mean? Well, 3rd & 4th (esp. 4th) is just tail-end Charlie of the 4 bikes that are streets ahead of the rest of the kit. So - less than top 2 is just the bare minimum finishing slot not to be rubbish, and be well, 'ordinary' in this company. To be anything special then MM (& VR?) need to beat JL and/or DP now n then.
And as was also said - MM hasn't raced the thing yet, & its pure speculation at this point that the kid will be mustard.

Lorenzo isn't putting pressure on Marquez with these comments, sounds more like he's telling "a little more brave" his coffin lost a nail when Stoner left but there's a new nail replacing him.

@CRT,

Dude, you cant make comparisons as the 2 groups never raced each other (with the exception of loris).

Loris was at the tail end of his time and still did manage to beat stoner in his WC year on equal machinery!

The whole base for rossi haters the past 5 years is this crap about head to head so again, no comparison can be drawn here between the 2 sets of "challengers".

Out of interest, as a point of comparison, you should have posted vales win & podium stats (just to add some perspective/context)....since your comparing stats of 2 groups who didnt race head to head while rossi amassed his stats against all of them at different points.
