@Dave, stats are just there to be manipulated into proving the sayers argument is correct. If you read the stats too hard to prove why he's still the best(Vale's) with those figures, you have to concede that the last two years prove he's not the fighting force you perceive him to still be either.
The only thing that we have with the coming year is hope. That includes all the riders. Let's hope Jorge is still the Metronome. Let's hope Danni's year starts better. Let's hope Marc is the full package. Let's hope that Vale still has it.
Of all the hopes above, only Vale has the loser card in there. Jorge and Danni can BOTH afford 1 bad season at their age and Marc is just a rookie.

Good post A1....Stats are Stats, nothing more, nothing less. Can be fun adapting them though.

Having said that there is one Stat that cannot be denied......Casey could ride a Ducati better than anyone else.

High hopes and expectations for Marquez, he needs to keep safe until he finds his feet. Huge learning curve as we all know, he'll get there though.

None of the riders have "fear" of other riders. They have respect for them. Sure Vale made a decision that backfired on him when he attempted titling on a third manufacturers machine in the top class, but now he's humbled for it. I myself could care less if he wins again on a regular basis. I just want him to enjoy racing again, and that will lead to many entertaining on track battles. He's def the most battle tested rider on the grid today, just not on the Duc. The participating riders don't forget the accomplishments of someone so accomplished who remains in their midst.

The point of the stats was to compare the racers of rossi's earlier rivals to what they are today. Jorge didn't need to race Biaggi to make that comparison.

Since when did Capi ever beat Stoner on equal machinery?

I can post Rossi's stats if you like, it will only solidify my point even more.

C'mon bro, you know Biaggi has a stellar record. You bad mouth him and others like Capirossi while completely ignoring the wins they have amassed outside of the Premier GP class. Which have been quite significant in comparison to what Stoner has achieved.

Biaggi 50 wins 122 podiums
Capirossi 21 wins 60 podiums

Those are huge numbers for a REAL racefan to ignore. Do you actually follow motorcycle racing?
