1 year behind Casey made Dani realise that he needed to up his game, last year he deliverd and thats why this year he's favorite ish for the championship.

It is a shame that Casey retired, he was so unbelievably fast and in sync with his bikes.

It wasn't the bike in 2007 that won the title, it was Stoner, how else do you explain Capirossi scoring less that half the points of Stoner?

I've been looking at the lists some have made of the greatest racers of all time. here's mine and why for what it's worth.
Mike Hailwood He beat the best of his day and came back after 11 years and beat them all again
@Codger did you ever see the photograph of his boot after a race with the hole in it and his toe showing.
Geoff Duke won three WCs on an inferior bike can't think of anyone else who did.
Mick Doohan Won five WCs with a gammy leg and would have almost certainly won another two had it not been for that injury.
Casey Stoner for winning on a bike on one else could ride.
Valentino Rossi Yes contrary what most people think I do think he's one of the greats.
Kevin Schwantz won races and a WC on a bike that was far from the best.
Freddie Spencer for winning two WCs in the same year a great feat in more modern times more so than the sixties when it was quits common.

Road racing Joey Dunlop, no one will ever come near what he achieved.
Top personality and great racer
Barry Sheen a true star.
Honerable mention.
Bob McIntyre First man to lap the IOM TT at over 100 MPH runner up in two WCs and one of the best road racers of all time he blew up more bikes than most trying to keep up with better machinery.
Now I would hate to try and put these names in any particular order as the top three I couldn't just as I wouldn't like to say what song I would put top of my favourite music which is a very wide range

lot of bitter people posting on here!!
even in the face of yet another stoner domination statistic people look for ways to bring him down with opinions.
as for doohan only winning through rainy's injury , rainy also only won in 92 due to doohans serious crash in which doohan was leading the championship by 65 points and never returned to finish the season , then had to learn to ride using a thumb back brake , he was handicapped through rainy's 3 year domination , kudos to rainy though , he was awesome.
one more stat on the stoner ducati saga is that stoner scored more points than all other ducati riders put together since ducati entered motogp up to when he left for repsol honda.

I think Stoner didn't enjoy riding the Honda as much as riding the Ducati. He can't go back to Ducati because the "Cigarette Man" don't like him and want him off their wages list.

There is no where else he could go that has the bike that suit him most with his aggressive riding style. That would put the racing fire off his guts for good and doing something else he enjoys like fishing and V8 cars.

Irrelevant article, of all the stats that could be reviewed about a retired riders career, they chose to compare team mates?????

Many poorly informed and articulated posts (per usual) and all the "my d#ck is bigger than yours" crap.

Nothing happening around the traps obviously so crap like this is produced.

BTW, I think rossis stats here are also better (not sure how you restrict that to a head to head but im sure the w&nkerz will try).

He had 13 years in the top flight to prove himself and he only got two championships. Hardly impressive considering he is the fastest rider the galaxy has ever seen. A “fastest rider” would have won every single race and every single championship he has participated. What an utter failure this fastest rider have been. And a quitter too. This fastest rider is the real fraud.
