Good on birdy the sport needs more like him. Don't know of any Ducati Burgess designed, intact I do believe the designer just got re-assigned by Audi.

I didn't say that Rossi and Burgess took a hacksaw and a tig welder and made the frame for the Ducati.
Long gone are the days that privateers like Kim Newcome can build a frame and take on the manufactures.Nothing against Paul Bird but like last year he's leaving things a bit late, last years ART bike he was running still had steel discs in testing.Didn't RdP wander down pit lane and with a memory stick for James when he was struggling and he downloaded all the settings for him, this will not be possible for Michael with this new chassis and with limited testing I would say that Laverty has is back against the wall from the start and unfortunatley it will remain there for the foreseeable.

Anyway not wanting to dis anyone so all the best to Michael PBM and here's hoping that the GPMS Technology chassis is a blinder right out of the crate.

I dont see what the Konig has to do with it, their has been others since, did you ever see it? More Kims ability than the bike.

As I remember all ART's at Jerez testing were using steel brakes becuase it was so cold.
As for Depuniet wandering down pit lane with a memory stick, his technician might have. Not unusual as all ART's were sharing data to aid developement, PBM were one of if not the last to get theirs.
Maybe what I should have added earlier is that no-one should bother trying to develope a bike, as well.

re: "Isn't it time we all recognised that without visionary people such as PB, who are prepared to put their own money into projects and follow them through, this sport would not be at the level we enjoy today."

you mean isn't it time we recognised that w/o visionary MANUFACTURERS, this sport would not be at the level we enjoy today. again, "people" don't have the chops to build engines (remember, it's called MOTORsport). without PW 119's, the F22 is but the worlds greatest model airplane. without engines, that pic is of the "worlds greatest 6061 paper weight" sitting on a conference table at alcoa.

re: "he put together a world beating bike at Brands 13 years ago don't forget".

don't forget, kenny put together world beating kit as recently as 06.

re: "Also, he says what he thinks and says it straight - very few do, and I personally respect him for that."

hey, that's just like kenny...!!! :D gotta love 'em, but i wonder if we've been paying attention...?

re "It would be great just to see the bike be competitive and let's hope it is."

yes it would be great... it'd also be "fantasy". gotta know the difference. hope's not going to "get it done" more than a decade into the 21st century. (aussie mladin voice)

re: We should give credit to Mr Bird for putting his money in at a time when money is in short supply.

translation: i'm glad he's dumpin' in HIS money, this way we "fan-sumers" can hopefully continue having OTHERS foot the bill for our entertainment, as we direct our energy in to figuring out ways to get everything under the sun for free.

re: "Top CRT would be fanta(st)ic!"

top CRT's worthless. you tell 'em casey...!!!
