It's a different era.
In the ancient times Ago ruled the Earth, racers showed up on box vans and worked themselves the bikes, puffed a cigar prior to the race, maybe even a beer and hoped to get out of it alive and not crash into a wall or blow the bike and get spewed from it.

Todays times are way different, one of the top factory bikes costs more than the whole paddock of 40 years ago, maybe even the track and al the money people had in their wallets at the time. Racers sleep in hyperbaric chambers, eat scientifically designed food, train like a triathlete and the difference between the top 5 is mere thousands of a second, it's way more difficult to compete in the highly specialized environment, no more winning by half an hour, even Rossi is behind right now, but as racers themselves say:"Never count Rossi out"

RE: Headline

Ago is a big fan and supporter of VR - also he is an real gentleman,

The headline of this article does not square with his comments:

GPone.com quotes Agostini as saying: "I'm convinced that Valentino Rossi isn't finished as a racer, but I think it will be difficult for him to win the next championship."

He did not say he doubts VR will - just that it will be difficult.

Rossi knows difficult and has overcome it - just like Max did

What age was Troy Bayliss when he started his glory days?
His first WSBK World Championship came at 32, got 2nd at 33 and at 37 and 37 he was crowned WSBK World Champion.

Anyone remember Carlos Checca, Max Biaggi or F1's Michael Schumacher ages?

Ago is just a jealous old fart who needs attention and finds that the mere mention of Valentino Rossi's name gets him his little attention.

He has got that right. Even anyone with half a brain knows Rossi will probably win the odd race, but the MotoGP title......never. That will be Lorenzo's or Pedrossa's for the taking.

Its not importante what Agostini tell, he is beeing caution and a respectable Legende.. we all know that Rossi is the rider that is on full desavantage now, he pass the biggest hard time of is carear on the last 2 years, is getting older, many guys on the padocke try hard to let him down letting him with the feel that is times are done.. Putting this alltogether even a noob will say its impossible for Rossi Win im 2013... But the fans that know this guy, We know that Rossi is ungry, we know that he whant to Win and whant to keep racing for more years, he knows that this chance at Yamaha is the biggest chance.. For all what i wach from Rossi all my live i really bealive this guy will rock im 2013.. I bealive on other 2009 year again, one year that Rossi dont win all races but win races, Win is Vs fights to Lorenzo and loss at some tracks but end up beeing what he is a World Champion
